  1. Soaker for you guys. Just under 0.50" in the Stratus for the event, only about 0.25" since 7AM.
  2. 0.90" and counting on the day. The rain has been relatively steady when falling with big efficient drops. Did spend a few minutes under 35-45dbz here and there to boost the total. Even had a strike 0.2mi away. Beneficial rain. Prior to today, only 0.73" since 7/18 - about 3 weeks. But even then my lawn wasn't "crispy".
  3. No doubt that this stretch of dews has been remarkable. The heat, as you said, nassomuch. And as Tip said, summers back is broken after this next cold front. Deal with it.
  4. Spent the past 3 days in your neck of the woods (Crawford Notch) and it's been incredible weather, especially given the summer so far.
  5. Congrats to Conway, MA on their nation-leading July precip. Almost 20"
  6. Funny, same exact thing happened the night before to a different artist. I even posted ITT (see quote). Delayed start to set 2. Three songs in they pull the plug. Guitarist even says at the end of the clip "I want it on my permanent record: I didn't want to stop playing. They're making us stop."
  7. I'm over 5" and you're at least over 3" (still >1" / week). I'm not sure how much water you want but I wouldn't exactly call us the have nots.
  8. 40th year for these guys. Bonus: getting rained off stage in Wilmington, NC last night.
  9. There's a band I adore, and have seen 17 times now going back to 2017. They are a rock band. They're late 30s early 40s, so grew up on all of that 90s rock. They do a number of covers of songs like this. Only thing that makes them less palatable to a larger audience, is they jam. Their originals sound like they belong in the 90s, but they jam them out. Not for everyone. They just did 3 nights at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, but tour often in the northeast. Spafford is their name. https://www.spafford.net/listen.html https://www.youtube.com/@SpaffordMusic/videos
  10. not sure, but this works: https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=subregional-New_England-comp_radar-24-0-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined
  11. Two adolescents trapped and relocated yesterday. Still one adolescent left plus big momma. Need to get them out and fill their holes before something else takes residence. Between the May freeze, 'hogs, unrelenting mank this is a brutal year for the gardens.
  12. I don't enjoy others' suffering but watching him try to spin that into a positive would be so entertaining.
  13. Can anyone tell me what the severe threat looks like on the Midcoast of Maine tomorrow evening (please)? Going to a music festival tomorrow night and wondering if they will actually be able to pull it off with the severe threat. Thanks.
  14. I've got it right at the entrance. Even blocked off every possible escape route so they HAD to walk right in. nope. Wen to the other borrow entrance in my neighbors yard. Blocking his off now, too. Watch them dig a new entrance.
  15. Anyone have any suggestions on how to catch groundhogs? I've been able to keep them out of my garden, but they've now made a burrow right up against my foundation under my deck. I've had havaheart traps out with cantaloupe, lettuce, peapods, and other desirable edibles in various locations over the past month, but the juveniles are too skiddish to bother going in there. I can't shoot them (residential 'hood). I don't want to kill them in their borrow (attracting other creatures). But I need them gone. I've heard urine, hair, cayenne are all deterrents. I don't want to deter, I want death (or removal) to know for sure these POS are gone.
  16. Maybe avoid any seafood sourced from LI sound for awhile.
  17. Just awful. Stating the obvious here but the recovery efforts are going to be $$$ and last for months. Vermont's topography and the fact that most towns are settled along the rivers in the valley make it a "perfect" candidate for significant flooding. The water just has nowhere to go. And it's not like these are people building new multi-million dollar homes along the floodplains of prime hurricane country. These are hundreds of years old settlements. That is to say, you can't fault anyone for the losses they're experiencing.
  18. Appreciate the updates. I have family in Henniker, nice to have a(nother) poster from that area.
  19. I see whats recently been added to the grocery list.
  20. Yep, 66/64 with thick fog. Mid-winter stillness in sound, late spring in sight, and feels like a mid-summer-on-an-island night in Penobscot bay.
