  1. I don't have a sensor, but I generally don't water established trees unless it's severe Stein. You do want their roots to go deeper. If the tree or shrub is new, it gets watered 2x a week (if no significant rain). If it's in year 2, I'll water it 1x a week.
  2. Ha, yep, that's like the one I have. Probably 15 pounds. Thought I could get my 9 year old to use it. Not happening this year, maybe next. I do love the cut it gives. Only complaint is I can't wait too long between mowing otherwise the clippings clump and I have to rake after.
  3. I picked up a Reel mower at a yard sale last fall. It's an actual workout using it and kinda fun. But wouldn't recommend for anything more than a half acre.
  4. All the local news outlets are covering it. All the daytime court-tv shows are covering it. Isn't the FBI involved, too? What else are you expecting?
  5. Pretty big discrepancy on precip for the past 30 days. Less so for the last 60 days, but still dry outside south/east areas.
  6. I would change Composite Reflectivity to Super Res Reflectivity 1. I find that to be more representative in most events. 0.02" 70/63
  7. What's the name of the place? I'll have to check it out next time I'm in town.
  8. We're getting them installed this year, and are doing so exclusively for the cooling aspect. I'm in PWM so we're not nearly as hot as SNE, especially with the sea breeze, but we've been using window units more and more frequently the last few years and I don't see that changing, so why not reduce the electric cost. I'm sure ROI will be a few years, but I won't ever have to install (or listen to them) again so that's a win.
  9. Are you equating the prevalence of allergies to prior exposure to the allergen? Impressive, even for you.
  10. Welcome news re: Browntail moth for anyone living in the Midcoast ME region (cc @moneypitmike) https://www.sunjournal.com/2024/05/13/browntail-moth-caterpillars-may-be-facing-zombie-apocalypse-in-maine/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1NWxKgduY2iFwf4jauljOmB7bX5eLrSRyIYh11cqqDQS9Rsmpf8AjNul0_aem_AauwxhYRGNNxzOWvaAo2LTyDvzDRrC38w3JMeJGbYwaypokeAZJSbVghLFBtOWtnpdem1cg4Vp2Ni5G8v5YLm5uN&mibextid=K35XfP
  11. I think it's been posted before and I regret not bookmarking it. Is there a site for average wind speed by climo site? I'm looking to compare seasonal wind speeds year over year (i.e. was this Spring more/less windy than last Spring?)
  12. 3 squares of mushroom chocolate was the correct amount for tonight. F. Yeah.
  13. Even if it's on your profile, that doesn't show on mobile.
  14. Impressive stat for PWM's snow this winter: Dec, Feb, Mar combined - 6.3" Apr - 8.0" 38.0" on the season, or about 57% of average.
  15. Yeah that 2nd guy was pretty close to a life changing injury. Not to mention almost taking out a few people along the way.
  16. Very nice! This is making the rounds from this weekend...I know these people are in the minority, but there's always at least a few people who have no business being up there and are a serious threat to others. https://packaged-media.redd.it/s87crw0kk4xc1/pb/m2-res_1080p.mp4?m=DASHPlaylist.mpd&v=1&e=1714424400&s=82c16a98c5b6b4b3947770aee4695b167efc16f6#t=0
  17. Good stuff. Thanks. I'm sure TK is a blast to ski with. I've found its not just skiers who over estimate. Neighbors and friends will ask how much snow we got, because they all know i do it for PWM. I'll say 6" and every time it's "no way, that's at least 8 if not 10 inches". I'm thinking...You all see me out here in the middle of the night like a madman, that's not just for fun - I take pride in the accuracy of my obs.
  18. Great post, PF. FWIW I asked TK about Jay as their 171" seasonal total on 1/16 sounded high. So I asked him (online) if they have a set spot or not. "They have three set spots. Not sure of exact details. But I have been following along for decades and this year some of the estimates actually seemed a little low."
  19. We put up several a few years ago, but cannot keep the Sparrows out. Bluebirds try to establish residency, but end up getting bullied by the sparrows. How do you keep them out?
  20. Haven't looked to see what's driving this April's departure, but you could argue that if you're not awake at night to experience the departure, it'll still feel cool in an AN month.
  21. Have some recommendations for Maine, but not where you're at. Best bet (aside from a recommendation here) is to download the Weedmaps app, and look at the dispensaries in your area - they'll have their menus so you can look for GF options.
