Boy that CC line is so far north already. North of Pittsboro through Apex.
Still all snow here ITB Raleigh but the CC is about 5 miles to my south.
Don’t worry. It’s coming. No doubt about it

What level of the atmosphere is this warm nose? I can’t read soundings very well
-
Well it was fun while it lasted. Warm nose worked itself in. I just flipped to nearly all sleet. Doubt we flip back

Ground is dusted. But Shetley said this event was toast south of 85?

This event is over south of I-85 in SC. Temps will not go lower than 36-38 in this area.
33 and heavy wet snow here 15 miles south of 85. Crow is on the menu

wondering conditions in southern Greenville County?
With higher rain rates we are getting bigger/wetter rain drops. Hope this helps

I just do not get all the negativity. Sure it may or may not snow/sleet/ice or whatever but some people get so happy when the negative forecasts verify or start coming in. That's when their post counts start going up and and they seem to become giddy. I would hate to to through life that way. It must be down right miserable.
If you follow a winter weather forum, there’s a 100% chance you are a snow weenie deep down inside. 100%. People show heartache in their own ways. They’re projecting. There’s a lot of bitterness built up for years and years of disappointment. Missing out on the “big one”. Insanity, really. Having lived where they live for most, if not all, of their lives and every year they somehow think things will be different. Time marches on.

GSP just expanded the winter storm warnings.
It always makes me feel a little better when I’m situated north of the southernmost warned and advised areas. Wouldn’t be the first time the wheels have come off, though. (Im)Patiently waiting on that wedge to settle in

You know, when I watch TV and there's a new show on that I watch for a few episodes, and then I decide I don't really like it, I don't keep watching it.
Take pictures of your snow. Congrats ahead of time. Many hours spent tracking this one. You deserve it

I don’t even know how to get measurable snow anymore. Clippers?

Reading through the forum, It’s easy to tell who isn’t getting snow tomorrow. Me being one of them

Say, what's the deal with people that gave up on the storm two days ago, but still continue to follow the models and post about the storm?
We hold out hope, but those of us who can read models know what’s coming. You can’t wishcast 6” of snow on the ground. Especially in the south
-
Me and Mack put our hearts and soul into this and we are about to get shut out. The wedge only works when you’ve got severe wx rolling in. Man I’m bitter. I mean I know Travelers Rest is a short drive but I like looking out the window at it. 8 straight nights staying up for the 00z Euro just to track a dud but it’s my own damn fault. It was a dud from the start. Low track over Jacksonville and we still rain. It’s hard to accept. Even in early December
-
-
Euro still giving me 10” right before go time. It’s so hard not to get suckered in. I know better. My name is WarmNose and I’m a glutton for punishment

Are we allowed to post the WRF in here? Asking for a friend

this moisture in upstate SC will have ZEROOOOOOOO affect on the storm this weekend
I do agree these are two are not connected. I will also tell you that I’ve lived here my whole life and the two ARE most certainly connected. It’s just reaffirming my understanding of where these precip boundaries are. Mother nature is keeping me humble and keeping my expectations at bay. Which I appreciate

I think the transition boundaries are already setting up. I heard snow in Pickens earlier. I was just on Woodruff road and it was sleeting. I am now back in the Golden Strip and it’s raining. The upper atmosphere has spoken.
-
I can’t wait to waste the first 2.25” of precip to rain. Backend freezing drizzle will suffice I guess. At least Landrum is a short drive
-
Pretty bad bad when the Euro gives you 13” but you know there’s 0% chance of that coming to fruition. Euro tries to set the snow/slop/rain transition line further south than history says it will be in Greenville county. What do you think Grit? I mean maybe I’m splitting hairs but it’s arguably the best global model right here close to game time and that transition line is the difference between 6+” and a mainly IP/zr event

Measured a whopping 2” on the hood of my car in Fountain Inn this morning. I got to stay up late last night and watch it rip for several hours. Wind driven confetti. No complaints here although I am a little jealous of the 12”+ reports. That’s good stuff
