RGEM was never showing an inch of ice for the upstate, lol.

Whatever source you guys were using for those RGEM maps was showing ice accrual based of a stock 1 to 1 ratio of rain to ice if the surface temp was < 32.

Greenville did get over .75 inches of liquid with temps less than 32 degree's. Problem is the temp was 31.5 to 32 during that time with torrential downpours, so only a light glaze was realized.

So in summary, the Rgem nailed this storm, but your ability to read it's modeled output failed. #RgemFTW, lol

RGEM failed miserably on temps. It said I was at 31 while I sat at a balmy 37 before precip rolled in. Icon nailed total precip in the days before the storm and 3k nam nailed temps. I won't look back at this one and say "Man, the RGEM had this one pegged"

Buff chic dip, wings, fresh guacamole, homemade wings, few angry orchards apple, nachos!

Praying for Eagles to win! Hate Brady more than 33 and rain

Mack, you hate the pats that bad!?

the only things I hate more than 33 degree rain are a stubbed toe, 3rd degree sunburn, and low-fat Mayonaise

Been there , done that! Knocked out 40+ wings at Wild Wing cafe lunch buffet Tuesday!

Tadpole does have good hush puppies and them pickled onions! Delish

If you like sushi, and a challenge, Hibachi Cafe on Laurens Road has AYCE hibachi & Sushi for around $20 and it's actually good food. Have at it. Eat yourself stupid. You won't want sushi again for at least 3 months

I'm not sure if they brought it back, but they use to have all you can eat perch and or chicken tenders on Wed/Thur I believe, but they stopped it , I haven't been in quite awhile! The trays are awesome

They still have all you can eat specials I believe. Not 100% but last time I went I had the perch and chicken AYCE. French fries and cold slaw. Ate myself sick, Mack

I used to go every week with the family! Gotta love the metal prison trays they served the food on.

Im convinced the metal trays haven't been changed since the late 80's. Gives the fried fish and slaw a certain old school flavor

  6. All of this bad talk about catfish in here is completely uncalled for. I'm not sure you should be allowed to comment in a Southern weather forum if you don't like fried catfish and hush puppies! C'mon

Mack have you ever been to the Tadpole Fish Camp in Greer? Ohh myyyyy!!

Hard to be overly excited about anything more than a brief period of wintry mix this weekend.  There is no strong high in the right position, and the cold air source isn't as cold as I'd like to see.  So far, I'm not impressed with a really cold and stormy pattern setting up anytime soon either.  Looks cooler than normal mostly and certainly no torch.  So that's good.  Plus, there seem to be multiple precip events.  So that's good.  But it looks like moderate/precip/cold/moderate/precip/cold to me.  Perfect timing will be very key over the next 15 days.  Hopefully, the last half of the month and into March will provide a more solid period of sustained cold.  That seems to be and have been the consensus.  We'll see, I guess.

Here's the last run of the CFS for Feb.  Not bad:

That's a great look. Those of us east of the mountains are almost solely dependant on a damming HP and with cold aplenty to our north it won't take much. Really need to develop some blocking here in the next 2-3 weeks. These blue anomaly maps won't do us much good once average temps begin to rise

This one when it's known that it is wishful and improbable information.

Fraz, first off I think you're a great poster and asset to this weather forum. With that said, why have a long term Discussion if we can't talk about LR model output? Many posters (lurkers) do not know how to sort through or even find model information so I find it very helpful to post maps so people can get a sense of what's going on even if it's at the end of a model run. We've been waiting on the models to get a grip on the pattern change and now LR surface maps are starting to reflect that. This is supposed to be informative as well as fun. Sadly, many of you guys make it "not fun" at times

Edit: I've followed this board since 09' so I'm not just a guy trying to stir the pot and insert my own will into the forum.
