Anyone heard from PackBacker?

Careful posting fantasy snow maps. A couple angry elves around here don't like LR optimism in the LR thread

Loving this pollen. Makes me want to delete my AmericanWX account

I work outside and this weather is great. Can't complain about 78 with a steady breeze. It's awesome. Even in February

Yeah, it's just that seeing an solid agreement on the NAO going negative like that it something we don't ever see. IDK if it will help us but we will see.
Also, from what I've read the NAO will become the dominant driver going into end of FEB, early March.
It's been a while since we had the NAO on our side during the winter time. Let's see if there's still enough cold air to block and tap into at the end of the month. Assuming the models are right about it going negative in the first place..

Long Term Summary:
SER makes us it's bitc*
Wedge makes a cameoThe wedge is the only thing that keeps dark red colors off of us when the February 2m departure from normal maps come out at the end of the month. Stout wedge in the heart of winter tomorrow and 42 degrees is the lowest we can go..pitiful
-
For the 18th and 19th our HP went from 1041 over Montreal at 12z Saturday to a 1035 north of Bermuda at 6z today. The storm is still there and the wedge is still there. GFS just doesn't know what to do with that high yet. I would lean towards a high in the Atlantic

The time around the 18th looks like a small window of opportunity if the LR GFS is to be believed.

B- here south of I85. I've seen snow fall 4-5 times. Got a dusting in early December and a couple inches mid January. Then a light glaze of ice a couple weeks ago. We also had a cold snap that would have rivaled those of the olden days. Not a terrible winter by any stretch, but I would like to see a nice marginal event with lots of QPF before the season comes to a close

Look on the bright side, you'll save on the heat bill. But pray you wont need AC.
Should be pleasant with open windows tbh

If the GFS is to be believed, Upstate SC goes above 60 degrees at hr 114 and doesn't go back below 60 until 216....Jeebus..talk about a torch

Remember just the other day it seems like, you posted that magical pizzert, with all those great looking pizzas dropping down, now it just looks like a broke down Ci Ci's!
Yeah, looks like CR's Pizza Buffet opened up a new restaurant chain in Asia. All North American branches closed down indefinitely

Do they like mild Pacific air?!
I hope so! No but in all seriousness, they have a better shot at frozen than we do with this craptastic zonal flow. Looks like Maine may be the big winner if this verifies

Not one icicle IMBY! It was sad
but it must have poured at some point! Lots of bigger than normal puddles and runoff! Should have put a smile on Shetleys face! I think I saw him post that he got a glaze on tree tops
Mack I woke up at sunrise and there was a light glaze on trees and bushes, which was quickly washed away by 32.5 degree rain by 9:00

Aren't weak Nino's statistically good for us (or at least less bad).
Yes. Active southern stream. Better than relying on a clipper closing off

Foles just made himself a boatload of money.
Who do the Eagles get rid of? Foles or Wentz? I think it has to be Wentz for obvious reasons even though he has proven himself and without him the Eagles wouldn't have been in the super bowl

Three failed extra point attemps in the first half. Someone explain to me that the NFL is not rigged...I'll wait

I cooked a Boston Butt on the big green egg for 8 hours. Just pulled it off. Got grilled corn and homemade slaw to go with it. Mack, come by and get a plate!

The way this early March pattern is setting up I would go out on a limb and say WNC is a shoe in for some late season wintry precip. Everyone else, well we can only hope for some late season magic
