Timing for Newhaven area still around 2-3pm?

First flakes of the season flew through the Naugatuck valley about an hour ago! Quick snow squall while leaf cleanup is under way!

Female here!!! Tend to lurk to learn, get reasonable fact filled weather forecasts, and only usually post observations. I’ve followed this forum since it was on the other board site. During the winter I check these daily. love watching winter filled banter during snow potential. Love reading the weenie posts during the winter as I’m a huge snow lover part of the fun of reading this forum is to see some of the back and forth with the Mets, those learning or those who just love weather like myself. The guys here don’t scare me off from posting at all as I have nothing to offer when it comes to what they do best. Other than when it’s observation time. They’ve never been rude to me when I posed a legitimate question about snow or storm potential.

If you’re looking for close to OBX Elizabeth City is just inland closer to the Northern Banks, has access to the banks and it’s one of the few areas with hotels. It still might be too close to the getting stuck part tho as that whole stretch tends to be flood prone. OBX is already experiencing some over washing in parts at high tide. They tend to flood after a good hard rain in many parts due to horrid drainage. Their ground is saturated from some heavier than normal rains the last 2 months. This isn’t looking good for them if the track remains. It’s an impressive area for hurricane or storm coverage. The sound side tends to get the water “sucked” out to where it’s near puddles and then it rushes back in. Be safe!!!

Dumping here now in Ansonia we dropped to 31 degrees just within the last 20 min....

Down in Ansonia snow has picked up to moderate. We have just under 2” keep in mind at like 430/5 we had a .5” then we got dry slotted sitting at 32 snow just started to stick to our side road

Apparently we have been in that tiny dry slot down here in Ansonia lol

Moderate snow here along with winds that just picked up. About .5 an inch on grassy surfaces (Ansonia CT)

Are we looking at the potential of wind and power outages again in CT? We have friends who still do not have power in Oxford area!
