  1. Idalia is still tilted, *never seen RI *until that gets fixed . Usually takes some time as well . I think that will be the saving grace for Florida if I could count on my hand every time someone underestimated how much a tilted center Inhibits RI I would need 10 hands. If this gets aligned I’ll be ready for potential RI , till then nope
  2. Well it’s either all systems go or the deep convection lets up Soon prior to being able to sustain a inner core
  3. NHC 11pm update “Strengthening Quickly” SSW of Cuba
  4. Used driving range for a pretty penny at Beaver Creek today . Lots of Marmots on this golf course . I wanted to hit my driver , the range went to about 175 and then the Rockies were basically the back drop . Couldn’t help but let the driver rip several times and just crush some off the Aspens .
  5. Some models show the NE winds over the N Gulf (Around the E Texas high pressure ) try to bring down some of that drier air From northern gulf (seen on water vapor ) and entrain it into the system (particularly the west side) which seems to inhibit it . We know that it’s structure has developed ahead of schedule , and I think watching to see if it can avoid getting dry air trained will be key to this over-performing , assuming it doesn’t meander over land in next day or so
  6. I wonder if that gulf system will have a shot to go to town
  7. I could see it being worse for Merrimack valley . I wouldn’t place money on it . But I could do worse than 40”. Now for southern CT , I think they will definitely do better than 8-10”
  8. My unscientific forecast is for the pacific to suck as it always does - hopefully it can be suck “lite”
  9. Crazy how just a few days before Andrew landfall, it weakened from a 50mph TS to a diffuse low Classified as a tropical storm (but Pressure of 1015 mb ) in SW Atlantic (north of islands ). Then BOOM
  10. Those mid west temps are insane 115 heat indexes in Wisconsin
  11. Just a nite of terror as sunsets , if your watching from Miami or even Fort Lauderdale ..your praying for every wobble in the wee hours that determines if you have a livable structure at sunrise . Downtown Miami escaped total carnage by 15 miles
  12. I’m guessing So, let’s see if the altitude can add some distance . I have never been above 6.2K, thou playing golf with a cart should not be “strenuous”
  13. Yes , the shape of the beach (first and second ) is a bit bay like and depending on the wind direction and whatever else ...Small red seaweed washes up and “gathers “ in corners of the surf zone and the Smell can be ..no bueno Cliffwalk , purgatory chasm, and Sachuest point are all nice walks along ocean with the latter two being a bit less busy
