  1. Was a great model flop . Always recall officials tossing The nam and then the gfs at 18z the day before and then the flip gained steam . Then a 1/4 folks complained about 8 inches of sand after days of zippo on models . Earthlight jack
  2. The hard stuff is where it’s at . Classy manly
  3. Better chance of winter advisory for GTG or kev in between Mugs n Jugs
  4. Seems to make sense . I may not have articulated it well but I was more critical of DOT and what gets them moving .
  5. Precip looks like just enough moved in perhaps ahead of even short term modeling and in situ CAD over-performed, So a bad luck combo to a degree as well .
  6. Early morning disco noted many had radiated into 20’s and precip was approaching and that it was worrisome but no advisory till 8.. i mean I’m sure there was little ice accumulation but umm the roads were still skating rinks from minor glaze but I mean the roads obviously needed treatment and warning flashing weather signs to alter the public on Black Friday bueller Given the short duration and light QPF...there is little ice accumulation forecast besides some higher elevations...so no headlines are anticipated.
  7. I deleted my comment bc im not sure how the folks that treat the roads make their decisions but it’s 2022 on Black Friday and there needs to be much more common sense forecasting or at least coordinating with highway treatment. There were no advisory issued in the overnite update when it’s was clear would be minor icing bc the Qpf was too low to qualify . A advisory was issued at i think 830 after the ...issues. so i don’t know if DOT gets their info from NOAA Or private forecasts but if NOAA they seem to benefit from **another winter advisory specific to minor ice on highways** or just act of the abundance of caution book for early am commutes
  8. We would have a 5 page thread for that icing lol
  9. Your trying a tad too hard . Pull back a touch and you may get more bang for your buck .
  10. Looks like we addIng popcorn to appetizers today lol
  11. Then add in the grinch period. kev is lining up to Punt
  12. Just the guy I wanted to ask Do you know how EPIC or Vail are doing Year over year (year to date) on season pass sales . Was wondering w ginxy if inflationary pinch was hurting any parts of the industry , I thought up scale may be hit less but curious
  13. Yo gotta buy before they stop selling them on Dec 4. You gotta upload a photo for each skier (and approve the waiver) and you get a pass mailed to you . Takes a week to receive
  14. You need to purchase a epic day pass if your looking to ski NH you can get each adult 1 for 51$ each (Wildcat / Sunapee / attitash ) that’s your best deal thru Epic. Kids 5-12 yrs old are 26$ for a 1 day epic pass at those locales The next tier up on epic includes Stowe , mount snow and okemo but it’s 40% more per day just to have those options . No thx
  15. You would think so , but I’d like to see how this year compares to last years presales On annual passes . My guess is many upscale resorts will be hit least hard this year but we shall see I found this https://www.saminfo.com/news/sam-headline-news/10187-vail-resorts-reports-year-end-results-and-2023-outlook early in fall (late September) vail reported annual passes were down 10% year to date but day pass sales have increased . Also prices have increased 7% for annual passes so , early on its seems Revenue is steady .
  16. I mean , if the pattern isn’t bearing fruit by then you could Have some Violent weenies to deal with
  17. Just gimme a storm , a strong low with strong winds , it can rain or shit from the sky .

  19. It obviously tragic but I am interested In learning more detail regarding her hiking experience in cold weather and her gear she had on .
  20. Have we heard the popes thoughts on December
  21. The thing that I’m confused about is she would be pretty experienced if she has done that many 4000’ ers. I.E I would assume , those folks check high mountain weather closely or have really advanced cold weather gear . Meaning I wonder if she broke something during her hike and was stuck or was it revealed she was lacking sufficient weather gear
