  1. Edit: We laughed at you getting hysterical over 4 days of warm weather. Also, 77.2 in Westchester. Still havent hit 80 in this stretch
  2. 73F at the end of the 1 Train in Bronx 62F in Hastings 6 miles north Love cool stuff like that
  3. Not that cut and dry. Most of the day by me was cloudy, there were even some sprinkles, and we were in 60s. Finally cleared just before 3pm. One of the posters up in Goshen had sun and 80s. People should stop denigrating people on this board. Its ridiculous. The guy isnt lying
  4. funny to the south in Westchester it’s been overcast all day and 60s. I see the clearing line approaching us now, but it probably is too late for the warmth. That Lego land is brutal in the sunshine and heat. Needed a few more trees or awnings when they built it.
  5. Colors along 195 in Jersey astounding this evening… 72 down here
  6. I understand, but you keep lumping us together with Northern New England. I don’t know when our first freeze will be in New York City, but we are not late at this point. They are late. They are running +10. We aren’t. there are two very different stories going on between northern New England and the mid Atlantic this October. One is running extremely warm. The other is about a degree above normal right now and cruising to 2°-3 above normal with these very warm days.
  7. we had plenty of cold air. What you’re looking for, continuous below normal temperatures, doesn’t exist anymore. Period. This month will be above normal because we had a warm start, a warm finish, and a lot of normal to below normal temperatures in between. Hence your normal leaf out this year…
  8. Tonight in RDU (where I landed) already 52F. There is an area that radiates much better than NYC metro and in the shoulder seasons, it isnt unusual for it to be colder just before sunrise on clear nights than NYC
  9. It’s amazing that sometimes my drive to JFK it will jump 12 or more degrees. And it’s eye-opening that it probably isn’t healthy to live like that. What we are doing down there isn’t normal or natural.
  10. Its true. Warmth def over performs on sunny days in the new climate
  11. but this is where the echo chamber comes in. First it was the 70s. Then it was approaching 80 now it’s the low 80s and multiple days of it. But there isn’t one commercial forecast anywhere saying that. You were taking the warmest model on the warmest day in the warmest location and making it sound as if we have a string of four or five days of temperatures in the low 80s coming.
  12. 44F in Southern Westchester this morning
  13. well, you guys are a little crazy on this forum with this 4 days of 70s. Never mind that it’s freezing out right now. I think this forum becomes an echo chamber sometimes were narratives get amplified to extremes
  14. Warmest Departures to the extreme NE has been a common theme
  15. So BN, 3-4 days AN and then BN
  16. Im not sure what everyone is talking about. Outside of first week, we have been a sea of 60s and 50s in day and 40s at night. What exactly are you looking for in early/mid October? Reading these posts you would think we are in an endless stream of 70s and 80s
  17. 93-94 was better imo. we will never see a winter like that again. I don’t think we saw the grass in Queens for most of that winter. And by winter I mean mid Dec thru early March And those Nyc schools never closed! I remember getting dismissed in one storm where the snow was up to my shins. Surprise 7 incher that went wild
  18. Then it got real cold after that and despite the shitty winter it stuck around for about two weeks
  19. Our 11 inch 94-95 El Nino season :/
  20. Id argue Dec 15 was the most memorable event of winter 15-16
  21. Does a 30 inch snow storm mean much if it is surrounded by 50 and 60 degree days for the other 3 months of winter? Because many of those big El Nino storms have been that type of winter. 2015-16 was a disaster of a winter. One epic snowstorm doesnt eliminate a Dec of 70s and the latest freeze ever.
  22. Well thats where we reside. I mean the whole country is warm and Ninos arent particularly cold around here. Usually mild and wet with a good storm or two. For the life of me I dont know why so many on this forum have been rooting for one…not that rooting for weather matters much.
