12z UKMET stayed with a track along the IL/WI border.

12z GGEM a bit south too, but still tracks over the IL/WI border. .

This morning is out-doing 2014 temp wise in a lot of places around the area, some by a wide margin. Only difference is little to no wind chill. .

6z ECMWF held with a track across far N. Illinois. .

Down to -29 at BCK now. .

Winds are offshore, so it’s really not lake related. It’s more-so the UHI there as well as areas further west being more low-lying and cold air drainage areas, commonly colder during nights like this. .

0z ECMWF did bump north, but is the farthest south of any OP guidance now. It has a track near I-88 in IL.

I think he's talking about the 50bz snows with golf ball plus flakes I had last system.

0.40" wouldn't put down 4-6" though, as ratios would be 10:1 to less, with not the best thermal profiles.

3-5" snows are redundant after a while.

0z GEFS a bit north and a bit drier again.

0z FV runs from just north of DBQ to MKE, so north as well.

Runs east along IA/MN border...which likely means it will pass over or north of MKE.

0z GFS is coming north. System in Canada is stronger and east.

Temps tanking tonight...-10 to -12 across NW Illinois currently. This will likely spread as more clearing occurs across N. Illinois.

0z RGEM only goes out to 48hr...but it would be way north. At 48hr SLP is just west of Fargo, ND...and is on a heading to go towards MSP. Yes, I said MSP.
