How did you do in the April storm of the prior year, April 1996? That one got areas to your south in Monmouth with 6-9 inches.

even April 1997 was like this. If you were further south, in Monmouth, you'd probably do better lol.

Remember 08-09? There was an IVT band there in February I think that dumped 8-10" in the Philly area down to Delaware and South Jersey. We did okay- about 4" or so. Of course the guy who measured at JFK was derelict in his duties and left it at half an inch during the early stages of the storm and never measured again, even though there were snow plows out lol. They even commented about that on the news.

One of the reasons we have seen such a high usage of antianxiety pills, antidepressants, sleep meds, etc., and yet stress levels go higher and higher is because Western society is so toxic. It's every person for themselves and it can be isolating and drugs seem to be the only way to get away from the stress. Of course thats a wonderful plus for the pharma industry, which feeds off the misery of others. Most of these industries do. The rat race indeed- and we are the rats! It's a very clever way for those who built the maze to "divide and conquer!" Watch the movie Dark Waters- it's about DuPont dumping toxic waste in the waterways and ignoring when their own employees complained of high rate of birth defects. It took a class action lawsuit to uncover what DuPont had been hiding for over 50 years! They have a strong lobby, as does the rest of the chemical industry, which is why pesticides that cause brain damage in children like chlorpyrifos have been unbanned. PFOA and chlorpyrifos have been found in our blood and PFOA has been found in the blood of 99% of animals including polar bears and eagles.

Watch the new Meet the Press episode, they talked to John Kerry and Arnold Schwartzeneggar who joined together to make a bipartisan group about climate change and Arnold mentioned that California has the strongest environmental regulations and yet has the fastest growing economy too. They mentioned that job growth is fastest in the solar panel and wind power industry over everything else and people are leaving the oil fields to go work there. He also said he got many conservatives to join by framing the discussion in terms of pollution and disease (like higher asthma rates) rather than solely focusing on climate change.

I've always loved the old intellicast radar but it says snow on Long Island and that's clearly wrong.

and some storms between 05-06 and 07-08. I think the only years that were significantly better pre 2000 were 93-94 and 95-96 and even 93-94 had a lot of mixing.

Models had it snowing until Tuesday morning, the question is what time will it changeover back to snow tomorrow. Some of them have it happening as late as 5 PM.

More snow on the back end quicker? I fail to understand your logic there. Do you mean there's more cold air around and it's drying up the front edge of the storm and the deeper cold air means more snow on the back end? But as Long Beach Surfer said, the mid levels are warmer than they were forecast to be.

How is it even possible for South Jersey to get 20" in a marginal scenario where the rain/snow line is an issue? You usually see that in a suppressed storm like February 1989- not this!

whats the temp there? it might be a function of low rates, as the precip gets heavier it will snow and temps will drop.

its CCB gets us also, CCB is the most reliable way to get snow around here.

It reminds me of the old Intense Snowfall Warning which was something like 10 inches in 24 hours or 20 inches in 48 hours.

I wonder if the NAM actually does better than the other models on storms like these because of the dynamic nature of the storm and small scale features involved.

I've been saying that I like the NAM over other models for storms like these.

it's usually the CCB that makes or breaks forecasts because that's how we get the majority of our snow.
