  1. I saw that live. I thought it was awesome how he broke down water equivalence and compared the consistency of snow with temps in the teens to regular Jersey coast snow with temps in the low 30s.
  2. instead it's Atlantic City that got nearly that amount. Who would have thunk....
  3. I guess you weren't in Morris County for Jan 2016 From Allentown to Morristown to JFK to Oceanside we were all 30 plus inches.
  4. For you, for him or for both, Ed?
  5. Parts of the city itself got a double digit snowfall. Brooklyn and Queens are eastward extremes? LOL
  6. Jan 2016 here, a super blizzard that dropped 32 inches of snow
  7. More than that, we are well over a foot of snow in western nassau county, I could walk from here to Queens. Close to a foot and a half here
  8. GFS was god awful we have had well over a foot of snow here, close to a foot and a half in SW Nassau, only 4 miles east of the Queens line
  9. Exactly, so this might be the best possible outcome to get in this pattern
  10. we had a wasted negative NAO in December, it would have been better to have a positive NAO in December with temps in the 60s and a negative NAO now, but are you sure that with a negative NAO the storm wouldn't have been suppressed? Because that tends to happen a lot too. What we had was fine it was like a blizzard here most of the day.
  11. no way LGA gets more than JFK unless there's a measuring mistake or error EWR -8 NYC -10 LGA -12 JFK -15 similar to December 2009
  12. 12-1 is always a good benchmark to use, 1 foot to 1 inch lol
  13. all their hot air destroyed the confluence and enabled this storm to come further north and west. So thank you to them for supplying all the hot air we needed to bring this storm closer lol
  14. How much near the Nassau/Queens line at JFK Maybe 15?
  15. so you're in Long Beach for this! The winds and snow down here are amazing!
  16. I think NYC will get 10" and JFK will get 15"
  17. dont want banding that results in haves and have nots I'd much rather have a general heavy snow everywhere
  18. lol personally I don't think it would be worth the trouble, the weather is fundamentally unpredictable, as this storm has shown. Use your brainpower to go into something like quantum mechanics or cosmology or both and try to discover what happened before the big bang ;-)
  19. Exactly, can't see more than 6 hours ahead in a near white out!
  20. lucky you dont live in ancient china, where they went off with the head of the weather forecaster / astronomer / astrologer got the forecast wrong
