  1. Would have been such a nice profile for an HECS if this was February lol Long duration, high winds and heavy snow. 24-30 inches easily. Maybe a PD2 type storm or even Jan 2016?
  2. looks like cloudy periods and windy at least through Monday. The annoying part is that the clearing line is so close-- looks like Western NJ will be clear at least on Monday? Hopefully we'll be out of the clouds by Tuesday and the wind will be gone by then.
  3. and I see the allergy season lasts much longer now. I got some breaks from that when we had that dry air come in after the late April storm. I'm wondering if the same thing will happen after this storm is out of the area?
  4. Don, so a higher chance of 100 in Seattle than in NYC again this summer lol?
  5. at least the rain will be over here by Sunday morning. It can rain in the Carolinas all it wants
  6. but at least the rain will end by Sunday morning so no more of that 5 days of rain nonsense some were talking about
  7. This data should be sent to them-- also look at how JFK and EWR are almost exactly alike! They should be used for our most accurate data-- LGA is too hot and NYC is too cold
  8. Yep this is why I said the old equipment should've been kept as backup and to compare lol
  9. warm summer...not not very hot? Looks like the excessive rainfall will keep us from having a very hot summer
  10. I think we can kiss our sunny hot summers good bye for a few years
  11. from the forecasts I've seen it will be windy on Sunday but sunny and just sunshine after that as the high pressure will push the storm to our south
  12. but none of our local forecasts show that so it's likely just an outlier
  13. there is no forecast showing that
  14. huh every forecast I looked has nothing but sunshine after that storm leaves on Saturday
  15. and thats the end of the bad weather, looks like nothing but sun and fun after that!
  16. But Lee Goldberg has mentioned it multiple times. I think it's obvious to them-- and I read somewhere that they mentioned it to park officials but the park people just wont do it. At this point I dont see any solutions outside of manually relocating the equipment-- do you? It's so obvious there is no way they don't know what's going on. On a different subject-- Chris, can you list JFK's top 90 degree day years? I think they would be 2010, 2002 and 1983? 1944 must have been an amazing summer- big heat and capped off with the Great Atlantic Hurricane! By the way did you notice that even after adding those extra 90 degree days, 2010 still stands out way ahead of every other year and no other recent year is above 7th at Central Park?
  17. I've always thought that kind of severe weather is much more common in the fall. Because of tropical weather and also because the waters are much warmer then. November was rowdy too. I have a feeling we might have a similar fall this year with the warm SST and La Nina still present.
  18. well at least the warmth indicates the sky conditions should be good for the eclipse?
  19. any early forecasts for the eclipse, Chris?
  20. We dont get much severe weather here. It's nice to get a snowstorm in early April, that bridges the gap to a more exciting summer here.
  21. I'm not even sure what the big deal is about trimming? Isn't that what thousands of families all over the tristate area do every year?
  22. April 2018 was much colder here with a 6" snowstorm on the 2nd, an extension of the March pattern.
  23. Same thing going on here, I really love dry weather and heat -- didn't get the heat but the 0 F dew points are nice, the strong winds not so nice. The low dewpoints are great for limiting my allergies.
  24. I've often experienced that critters and mosquitos go away when it's very hot and very dry. That's the kind of energy that fixes many things. Very hot and very dry is ideal, even if you have to water....no critters, no mosquitoes, no pollen, no nothing. That will also give you your cool nights while in the day time the dry ground and wall to wall sunshine and downsloping winds make you feel glad to be alive
