I love April snows, March snows always disappoint because we always expect more, but April snows are more cherished because you know it's the last one.

Yes, it would have been a truly warm March if we had made it to 80+ at least once. Thats my benchmark for a warm March.

Now this was a real March snowstorm (similar to the March 1956 and March 1967 snowstorms.)

Wait this can't be right, NYC did not get 4.2 inches, all of us got 8-9 inches out of that storm.

it was mostly a mixed precip event for us. My favorite storm in that pattern happened in April.

4/1/97 was a huge bust, we were supposed to get 8-16 inches but got 1-2 and Boston got 30 inches. That was like the 2004 ALCS

Where do these stupid sayings come from? Please tell me a met did not invent this. "When thunder roars go indoors" 1) thunder doesn't *roar* 2) if people need stupid phrases like this to be saved, maybe they're too stupid to be saved and don't bother? Use common sense, people. I'd replace it with *When thunder rumbles take a tumble* That's more accurate as far as what thunder actually sounds like. Plus, let them tumble.....

you should add April 1996 to this list, JFK had 4 inches of snow, Central Park as usual undermeasured.

How did we have a three day snowstorm in April? 2. 10.2", April 3-4, 1915 _____________ 59 Mar 25 This one believe it or not, we got fringed as Philly got 20 inches of snow lol.

yes less snowy and less cold than those historic seasons, because we're in a drier cycle now and less snowy too. But probably better than any other season in this miserable decade.
