  1. Incredible how it’s bone dry in this area. Pouring due north, west, south. Never seen anything like it
  2. Doesn’t look likely. Storms firing 2-3 miles to my north all week. Incredibly consistent pattern all within a few miles all week. im convinced it’s all about the frictional convergence causing the storms to fire north of the LIE after instability builds over 8-9 miles of land. Not sure how else to explain it
  3. Cloudy and thunder in distance but the rain keeps developing to my north and sliding to CT. Same pattern all week. Pouring at the boat and dry at home
  4. No rain here again. Steam bath.
  5. Looks like some rotation in that storm
  6. Ha most of the city lives literally on top of black top, yet the temp is taken under a tree in a big park.
  7. 85/76 now. Brutal day for 6 year old baseball…
  8. Low of 75 today…warm for 9/9
  9. 88 today. Steambath. Sleeping on the boat with the AC cranking
  10. Holy dew point. Dews at 77 at ISP and FRG, 76 at JFK. High end stuff. Nasty out there
  11. Forcing is the issue not instability. We have the ridge to our east so we may not see any rain until tomorrow or even Sunday east of the city
  12. 91 in Montauk. Don’t see that too often
  13. Farmingdale was 93/71/100 earlier, now 93/70/99. We do the dews
  14. 96 here now, hottest of the season. What a difference sw v n winds make for my area.
  15. Pretty sure i calibrated my Davis vantage vue when I first got it. heat index of 99 at both FRG and ISP. “it’s a dry heat”
  16. LGA this week has been cooler than JFK with high temps…wind direction from the north. Today should change that
  17. What’s your point? We’ve had a north wind off the sound most of the month, keeping LGA cool. is the park on the water too?
  18. @BucksCO_PA take a look at the current area temps. All local sites are 90 or above, even on LI. Central Park is 87, by far the coolest. do you think that A. The city is a naturally much colder area than the suburbs, or B the sensor is reading too low?
  19. Yea that seems high…ISP and FRG at 90, I’m at 91, so 95 too high
  20. Yea, that has kept LGA relatively cool this week. Constant flow off the sound. You can even see some of the wind obs showing a NE wind direction at LGA and NYC off the sound, when the rest of the area has a west/nw wind.
  21. Absolutely roasting this morning. 90/77 already. Yesterday at this time I was only 86. North winds definitely kept north shore a little cooler yesterday.
  22. Low of 80 at LGA on September 7. Has to be a record?
