No we aren't.  What are you even talking about ?  The pessimism and trolling is annoying in this subforum compared to other subforums.

He’s not wrong, might be delayed but not denied. The can is kicked but only by a week or so

  2. The issue with a pattern change in February is that you won’t get a long lasting snowpack. At most the snow sticks around for a week.

when you get nice snow in December and early January you can get that glacier which sticks around for 30-40 days.

so for me this winter already will fall short because we won’t have the chance for a long lasting snow pack

Soil temp still comfortably in the 50’s, impressive for almost-late December. Last winter it dipped under 40 for a grand total of 30 minutes on the morning of Feb 5th.

Grass is nice and green headed into the new year

Full on low/mid-end tropical storm conditions on Route 112 in Medford. Rain falling in sheets and traffic lights blowing around.

Central Suffolk getting crushed right now. Lots of outages in that line

Port Wash branch of LIRR partially suspended due to fallen trees. I’d call that fairly significant, especially given the time of year.

Yea winds 54-58 is a middle tier event to me. High end is 65+ for the island. Still torrential rains, but we missed the worst with 1.77”

Thunder here. Thankfully looks like it was a pretty modest event here. Not noticing many branches down, never lost power and I have only about 1.3” so far.

54 at FRG nothing to sneeze at.  But in the winter, we can handle it with no leaves on trees.

tbat being said lots of trees down in commack messing up the bus routes
