getting close but A LOT left to iron out that said many people have kids heading back to school = ME ----> can you guys give me a guesstimate as to the start time for this as 88 and I were discussing earlier in this thread it was looking like mid afternoon, has that changed ? What time ????????? Thanks in advance

YEP I get it but Too late in fact 88 we just booked the flight last night as it was real slim pickens and getting $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I tried to get him out of here and back at School by Saturday but he has a big get together with friends Saturday nite they are all back from school. So we watch and we wait ,as I am sure many other people have concerns and travel issues on this weekend = back to the models

I have been looking at models ps my son flies or at least tries to fly out of Newark on Sunday at noon

I now it is very early in the game and there is a lot left to happen but I am asking again --> guesstimate as to the timing on Sunday ( noon ? ) = Bueller ? Bueller ? Anyone ?

all this running around and food and football with a possible storm coming has us all a little frazzled

Yep local forecast is saying 80% chance of "lite snow" but we know better it could get real ugly / beautiful out there depending on what side of the fence you are on. In other news although the details still need to be ironed out it seems the timing was at one time Sunday night but it appears to me it is much earlier ( I think closer to noon but could be wrong ) now anyone have a guesstimate as to the timing ?

Okay weather geeks let me pose this question to you about the energy in question , I have heard BR say this for years and once he brought it to my attention I have found it to be fairly accurate but the NM Rule states that where the energy enters on the West Coast that is usually the same longitude and latitude that it exits on the East coast = So is that what will / could most likely take place ? I think it probably will but I am a novice and I realize there are a lot of dynamics in play here, thoughts ?

LBS Thanks. I am still shocked that a major highway was not salted or plowed in that area it was one scary ride , I've had white knucklers this was much worse

Gravity it was quite an amazing ride,,,I am NOT exaggerating when I say in all my years of driving in snow this was by far the scariest and I have had some white knucklers . The sides of the road on grassy areas leading up to Windsor were white in areas but for the most part they had nothing and Im not sure when it happened but I was watching the temp on my dashboard much of the ride but it suddenly hit 30 degrees and EVERYTHING got white and the road was real bad.I had checked the weather reports and models and I expected 1 to 3 or 2 - 4 in Binghamton but there was nothing in Binghamton when I drove thru, hardly a flake and I don't think I even had my wipers on.

I realize this is banter and Mods put it there if you wish = I Drove up to Buffalo this morning and I cannot put into words how bad 17 to 86 was around Windsor just south of Binghamton it was snowing hard and the temp which had hovered between 32 and 34 for my entire ride hit 30 degrees and I saw cars littered all over the road not to mention my truck with 4 wheel drive, at one point I slid downhill for about 2 or 3 blocks downhill ( very scary ). Roads were being plowed heading on the Northbound side but my road had not been salted or touched by a plow now back to our regular program.

Still time for them to change but keep up the good thoughts 88

Hey 88 , If it snows A LOT you and I and some others will be dancing in the streets but I guess we will just have to wait and see how the winter plays out. Rjay its your clam bake and I'm just here to eat the clams but if you are going to giggle at predictions at least throw your hat in the ring and make a prediction yourself so we can actually see who has the last laugh.If you posted already my bad as I did not see it but if you have not = what are you waiting for stop giggling on the sidelines and make a guesstimate. BTW if my guesstimate / prediction was wrong I HOPE I WAS UNDER

They sprayed the roads by me early yesterday I am not sure why this was done yesterday and NOT today ? That said 30 degrees in New City right now

21 degrees in New City / Rockland County = if its going to be cold it might as well snow just sayin

Some people are weenies and some just hate the snow I get it .What I never will get (weather guys n girls should know better) is that some people like to talk talk in absolutes about weather and predictions but all I know is that is NEVER a good idea and for instance last year our first snow storm had the temps drop real FAST and everybody and their mother had terrible commutes home and the usual 30 minute commute took people 4 hours NOT ONE PERSON on this board or anywhere else anywhere called that correctly , not the haters or the weenies. I am not saying tomorrow is any where near the setup we had last year as it is NOT but to talk in absolutes is just IMO foolish. I am looking at the models and everyone including L.I could get mood flakes tomorrow and others could see a lite accumulation but that's just my opinion.
