    White ground this morning, snow still falling with about 40 mph gusts. Looks like someone shaking up a snow globe out there.

    For 6Z Sunday, the NAM that just ran at 18Z is 6 degrees colder than the GFS at that same time and about 2 degrees colder than the euro.

    Euro stays all snow here. About 8 inches of it. I can work with it. Only about 24 hours away from being NAM’d.

    Yeah I was hoping to stay away from the ice. Canadian was a crippling ice storm here.

    I think most models have been trending south/southeast with that LP in prior runs. The ICON just made a big push south with it. Partly because the HP to the north was further south and 2mb stronger. We’ll see!

    To have a parent high to the north and a meso pop in VA acts as reinforcement to colder air. So yes that would be a good thing if you want snow/ice in CAD regions.

    That air mass to the north is just so cold, it would probably overcome a bad placed LP. One thing I just saw on the 12Z ICON that bears watching is that it’s popping a meso high in VA.

    Canadian agrees too. If anything, the GFS is on the island. It should be comfortable there tho as it spends a lot of its time on it.

    The CMC says basically no accumulation north of the NC border. Wow, amazing how this was a MA storm 24 hours ago.

    Hmm 0Z NAM seems quite a bit south of its 18Z run.

    FWIW, 18Z EPS shifted south.

    Not too bad there. As you can see, only a handful of miles from the heavy stuff.

    I think you are in a really good spot. Have wiggle room either way there. Backside wraparound/NW flow does look pretty good here. One thing with this back end wrap around snow, it’s going to be pretty cold so some decent rates will be involved too.
