  1. At 24 on euro, 850s colder everywhere.
  2. Thought about heading up to my grandparents house at the foot of gateway. Thinking he may get raked up there. Plus he has wood stove!
  3. Hold out hope? Old fort may jackpot. The snow was never forecasted to begin here until after dark. Patience
  4. Hate to say it and you’ve seen it before but the French broad river valley is not the ideal place when it’s a CAD situation. The warmer air just tunnels down that valley.
  5. They updated the warning shortly before 11 and increased totals here. But I am in a more favorable CAD area being east of the escarpment
  6. I’m hoping the dividing line is closer to 74 and not 64 so it’ll get us both.
  7. GSP updated the warning here. Was 10-16 now 14-16 with possible 20 nearest escarpment.
  8. I’m not discounting it, I just need to see it on more than one run. If 18Z has it, especially more pronounced, then it’s trouble for some areas especially west of escarpment.
  9. Yeah worst case road conditions would be a snow pack with a couple inches of sleet on top and a glaze of freezing rain as the cherry on top. Nightmare.
  10. Per the RGEM I barely stay all snow here. Caveat to that, heaviest precip is usually right along the transition line. Tight rope!!
  11. RAP and HRRR which are usually very toasty so no sign of a warm nose. Stay tuned.
  12. The footprint of where the heaviest accum will be is the same as the NAM it’s just about half the amount.
  13. RGEM is just crushing WNC at the end of its run.
  14. It’s posisble! Hope the sleet and freezing rain stays confined to my south, I enjoy my electricity.
  15. Don’t feel too sorry. Every model run from overnight has 14-28 inches here in WNC. Make a road trip!
  16. ICON south this run and coming in line with other models. A consensus is building folks. Get prepared, stay safe, and enjoy!
