  1. Out to 90 on 12Z ICON it’s colder and low further south.
  2. 12Z ICON much snowier as it runs a weak low along the gulf with big arctic high to the north. Really picking up on CAD now.
  3. Sitting at 99.60 with steady rain falling. Need .40 to hit the 100 inch mark for the year. What a weather year including two ice storms and 16 inches of snow already. Oh and today is the first day of winter. I love WNC!
  4. The HRRR that just ran could be a warning shot for those below 4k feet. It has precip stopping around 02Z (9PM). Still clocks the really high elevations but not much precip left for the rest of the mtns after it’s cold enough. We’ll see if it’s a trend or blip.
  5. Yeah down into the ground is frozen but the top layer would not be as it’s pouring the rain as I type this. Hard to overcome puddles. Just a caveat, I’m not one of those people who preach ground temps but rain to snow is hard to do most times and have a decent accumulation aside from a slush puppy.
  6. It will be really hard to get any sort of solid accumulation after 2 inches+ of rain unless it is coming down at a really good clip.
  7. Avalon Pier in NC getting nailed right now with 60 mph winds and 2 feet of sea foam coming in.
  8. I wouldn’t sleep on this one mid week just yet. Keeps ticking south each run with a closed ULL trending south as well. Probably a no go but something to watch.
  9. Almost like Mother Nature said I almost doubled your yearly snowfall total in one storm, enough is enough lol.
  10. Still getting light snow/sleet here. Different measurements were 14-16 here. What a storm. Maybe more tonight?
  11. Wow what a storm. About to close the book on round 1 of this storm. Still light snow and sleet mix. 15 inches here in NE McDowell. Not a bad start to winter, 2 ice events and a 15 inch snow.
  12. Big win for FV3 on this storm. Euro was excellent as well.
  13. FV3, Euro, and to a lesser extent UK win this storm. Big win especially for FV3
  14. 13 and counting. County wide 12-16, highest reports coming from old fort as they were snowing a couple hours before most.
  15. Depends where you are. Some places are picking up as much as they did in 93 and/or 09
  16. Several reports along southern escarpment of 17+ inches. Many many places over a foot including Asheville.
  17. You could have flew back home, just flew into the AVL regional airport and got a hotel room nearby there. Widespread foot+ totals.
  18. After such a delayed start in the greater McDowell area, I can’t believe I’m typing that we have 10.75 on the ground right now with moderate snow still falling.
  19. Looks like GSP bumped my totals up again. 8-12 tonight, 6-10 tomorrow.
  20. Latest euro run.. including ULL action Monday morning. Still a long way to go!
