Finally something to watch tomorrow! Maybe... KBUF bumped up a little on their map... Channel 2 is showing a 3-5” stripe now... and 0z HRRR has a nice metro hit...

I still don’t get how this all works. My entire house with the exception of me ending up catching covid. Spent 3 weeks quarantined with 3 covid positive individuals in “ daily close contact... for hours...” 5 tests over a 16 day period and I still can’t test positive! Doctor sent me for an antibody test figuring I might have been “patient zero” and nope no antibodies. Was told I must have the good “T cells” in me. Hate saying this but I actually was hoping to catch it during our quarantine so I could get it over with and be good until summer time. The uncertainly with all this is the worst part.

Record breaking storm for Alaska. Strongest storm in the straight since Nuri in Nov 2014... Hmmm... Maybe this can shake things up!

Jan 25 2019? It might actually be higher than that 17.2” daily for a rolling 24 hour total through the 26th with 20.0”. Now we add 12/26/2020 with 18.4” to the list!

This was current as of 2011. I think there may be 2 additions to this list? before today... ? No wonder why we always feel let down... We have been spoiled. We grew up seeing 5 of the top 7 storms in a 10 year period...

You know what’s scary... This was the best local forecast... Few hours early on the band but I know I was laughing when they posted this...

This really was a good event. I’m trying to get an updated listing but this would likely make a top 20 daily snowfall at Buffalo. This doesn’t happen like this often. Usually something goes wrong and the metro event duds out. How many times do these high impact events just not play out? KBUF tweaked based towards the model changes but they kept a good discussion and never really ruled out the northern push but played it down. I think they gave a good forecast... The local though... wow rough!

KBUF did fine. This was there map Thursday AM... 36 Hours out... That map was almost dead on. That was the map that all the High Res showed almost identical hits on later in the day. For whatever reason when the SR models started showing less high impact hits KBUF for whatever reason jumped ship on their first call. Once they jumped they were stuck chasing the models that were the ones that didn’t handle it well.

Look at that. Little westerly band floating into Eden Angola... That SW flow kicks up and just shoves that plume right into South Towns. Starting to see some flakes flying again!

Nice. If I’m reading the radar right it looks like that band is just hanging over the area that BUF only called 1-2” for?

This is what KBUF called for tonight. What if this band sets up 20 miles north? Even if it sets up it will be weak and a shore hugger but could bring another 2–4” maybe.

Looks like a fresh coating coming back up north!
