  1. Nice looking band. Def looks like it’s gonna go further south that the KBUF map was showing.
  2. 9pm-8am 11.7” 8am-2pm 5.4” 2pm-7pm 3.8” 24 Hour Lake Effect Total 20.9” Add in the previous day synoptic and that’s 26” in 48 hours. Just shy of 20” snow on the ground which is the most I’ve had in awhile...
  3. Who’s got time to clear off the car when there’s a lake effect band to chase! And my wife says I need a hobby... lol
  4. Only picked up another 5.4” from 8am-2pm. Snow was a lot fluffier and probably compacted quite a bit when we had that lull for a few hours. 11.2” 9pm-8am 5.4” 8am-2pm 16.6” Lake Effect Total Add in the synoptic and have a storm total of 21.6” in last 48 hours that ain’t bad!
  5. Here We Go Again! Gonna attempt to shovel the driveway just before the band comes back through lol!
  6. You ain’t chasing a good one till your pushing cars stuck on Transit lol
  7. I’m confused... all the local Mets are posting the band is moving south now...??? It’s drying up but flow is still locked into the metro. Last few updated frames starting to see a re intensification on the northern side of the band. Might be coming back to life here shortly!
  8. The lake giveth and the lake taketh away... thoughts on band activity this afternoon once that shortwave boost hits the lake in next few hours? I’m feeling a band will rapidly blow up over the metro and either sag south or get pushed inland as the wind turns west and puts a disorganized band back into the southern tier...
  9. Airport was showing 6.6” at 915am... Now at 1100am they are reporting 9.8”
  10. Looking like their original calls before they lowered them would have been pretty darn close.
  11. Upstream has me concerned how much longer this will stay over the metro. Feeder bands are drying out pretty quick. Can see a slight ripple with a possible wind shift heading over the lake from near Ling Point. Can also see what looks like a new band trying to setup on a due west flow into Southern Tier where main SW band was being fed from...
  12. Yeah I just made an account earlier this year. I only use it for weather posting. Lots of local weather enthusiasts on there posting. So much better than Facebook for stuff like this.
  13. Make sure you share once the snow is done. Should look cool! You over 2’ yet?
  14. Dual Banding. Check out the northern band, it’s got dual feeder bands flowing into it and it’s really getting an intense core. That’s right over downtown to airport and moving towards you guys up north!
  15. That first one was weird. Guys close to the airport were saying no way we had 20” in that one band. If I recall right it was super fluffy snow. Think we got close to a foot here but could have cleared that foot with a leaf blower. This one is just more of a prolonged lock it in and let it rip storm. We haven’t had one of those here since 2014. Also looking at the chances we keep snowing good for several more hours today. This is the real deal so far!
  16. Abbott Road South Buffalo. That’s the money shot! 3”/hr rates easy!
  17. 11.7” here at 8am. (That’s just lake effect since 9pm). Best snowfall we’ve had since 2014. It’s cranking out there right now.
  18. Gonna venture out at 8 to measure... but when you got trouble opening the door chances are you got a good amount of snow!
