Looking at that shot I am trying to figure out the city light sources. To the extreme right must be Berlin. Maybe Littleton on the left? Then on the far horizon that must be Montreal. Years ago I did a winter overnight edu trip at the summit. A noreaster was developing down in the mid-Atlantic and the cirrus shield had made it over SNE. Boston's lights were quite visible reflecting up to the underside of the clouds. Actually, this would be a neat question to the observers. If a cirrus shield was over NYC would they be able to see the cirrus lit that far away. I think it would be possible. For some reason the "how far can you see" question has always interested me.
Edit. Maybe the horizon lights are Burlington?
I think the really bright lights on the far horizon toward the middle are from Montreal with Burlington as you said to the left side of the pic on the far horizon. As for the bright white lights on the left I am not sure.

This is their shot from last night. They said it was brief and it doesn't appear it was super bright.

I missed it last night. I didn't think a G1 would be enough to do it.

At 6:11pm I had about a 30 second appearance near South Hero, VT:

I went up to the top of my hill last night and couldn't see anything. My friend Dave setup at the foot of Newfound Lake and with a time exposure caught them very faintly. Like the ones I briefly saw last week they are usually far on the north horizon. The key lately is you really need to have an unobstructed north view without any city lights in that direction...
Here's the pic he posted on his site...
Yeah it is absolutely about as faint as possible there and definitely wouldn't be naked eye visible. The Bz was not in good position before the clouds rolled in. Those farther west in the US got a show later once it flipped south again.

Clear skies but nada to my bare eye. Nothing in the remarks from MWN yet either.
Yeah the Bz was neutral to north.

Got an aurora alert this evening. I didn't see anything out there just before clouds rolled in though.

Unfortunately, I'll have to agree. Numbers aren't great.
There is a G2 now but of course it is 2:30pm LOL.

Went up the road from Dover and was able to get two bright green bands on my long exposure pictures. It was around for about 5 minutes before fading away.
Very cool yeah there may be more tonight if that G2 verifies.

Looks like the X8 flare on the sun's limb was enough to at least send some of the CME in our direction. We may see up to G2 storming tonight or more likely tomorrow night. The forecast is favorable for viewing as far as the weather goes. Obviously timing is everything. The moon phase is waning which is good as well.

What was your f/number? Just curious.
Thursday night event was my first attempt at spotting northern lights and it was gorgeous to watch from Alton Bay around midnight! Wish low clouds to north weren't there or I would've gotten better pictures, but I'll take a solid green aurora band for my first attempt! Hopefully next good event will have pillars...

Beautiful, eyewall. I could only see the green faintly. Was the pink visible to the naked eye?
Yes the pink was definitely naked eye visible and you could clearly see the color. These were only 4-6 second exposures at 1250 ISO. It didn't last long but it was bright when it was there.

A couple of more form last night. The rod to the left of the tree was actually south of due west.

Nice pics.
Bz south again.
Thank you!

Here is what I caught. I was at 1250 ISO for 4-6 sec so it was pretty bright to the naked eye before it faded quick:

I feel bad for anyone in that screw zone. Obviously this was probably the one chance for the year and to be in there just hurts.
