  1. 50.6 (51) here for my low. Feeling left out of the 40s club.
  2. There's a lot of video out there of the PA flooding during Agnes...and in a lot of the video, people are wearing jackets. (I was 7 at the time and don't remember that level of specifics without seeing the video years later)
  3. You're in the chill zone, already at 70 here now.
  4. 64 and spectacular at 8:30am. Hard to say anything negative at all about the weather in front of us, but as @Bubbler86 alluded to, one concern is the potential to dry out once again very quickly.
  5. @canderson have a great, safe trip! Enjoy the reprieve from the cooler weather that we'll be enjoying.
  6. I need to check Peter Sinks out. Sounds like my kind of place.
  7. Just got home and the radar doesn't look inspiring - and I'm not being a downer...there is a path to no rain whatsoever by the looks of things. (still think it will rain - but I'm starting to wonder)
  8. Sky has gotten even darker here since noon. It looks like an early afternoon in January when snow's about to break out, lol
  9. Being on vacation I was only half paying attention - it just seemed like all the talk last week was about heavy rains and potential flooding. I got home and was surprised. Drove through parts of NE North Carolina who have had over 14" of rain in the past 2 weeks. There's water everywhere, and I mean that. There's no where for it to go.
  10. Thanks guys. I was stunned to return home last evening and find out I got just over a half inch of rain for the entire week. It sounded like we got a lot more than that. Hopefully today works out- minus the severe.
  11. Wow! I got home late yesterday to find .56" in my gauge. Over 1" less than you.
  12. Drenching, tropical like showers have been rolling through here since early AM. Nearest station (about 20 miles away) is reading 81/77. She's wringing it out pretty efficiently.
  13. Yep, I will PM you and MJ Snowman once I am home and settled.
  14. No, only have in here. Limited posting for obvious reasons but wanted to provide updates on what it's like here. If you look at the Outer Banks on a map, it's sort of shaped like a boomerang. We are at the eastern most tip of it.
  15. It's closer to the ocean than many oceanfront homes are, but because it's not, I pay a fraction of what the oceanfront homes go for. Private pool, hot tub, cornhole, and bikes all included and it's a great time.
  16. We love it here. Pool is a super cool bonus as a diversion from the hot sun on the beach.
  17. View just now from my deck. Front end loader is gearing up for flooding by plowing sand and putting down gravel for traction to help those of us near the ocean to get out.
  18. Thanks all! It's been an incredible week so far. Timing of our rain is unfortunate but it's hard to complain much after what we've enjoyed.
  19. First rain of the week last night- nice again today but the weather looks ominous for driving home Saturday. Heavy, flooding rains expected to arrive later tomorrow continuing into the weekend.
  20. Sunny, 84/69 here with a SW wind at 15 mph. Another gem of a day!
  21. Yes! You got it - very common summer weather pattern where activity forms just inland and slowly migrates further west. It was quite dark across the sound around lunchtime but it was nice right here on the coast. It's cleared out everywhere around us now.
  22. Taking what? It's beautiful here. Sunny and 85. Winds are out of the west today but we should get our sea breeze back tomorrow. Not a drop of rain so far and little chance of any until Thursday or Friday.
