  1. Agreed - something should be reaching the ground now in northern Franklin/extreme western Cumberland I'd think.
  2. My wife said she would be more than stunned if she got... Yeah, so we just hit 40 degrees here.
  3. Glad you posted - I've been patiently waiting for you to update. Heading up next weekend to see Sparty?
  4. Elliott at MU: Rain will overspread the Lower Susquehanna Valley from west-to-east between 2-5 p.m. this afternoon but should quickly change over to a period of wet snow N/W of I-81 and along South Mountain. How far south/east wet snow occurs will depend greatly on precipitation rates.. Higher rates will result in more efficient dynamic and evaporational cooling, and vice versa. Still, I don't expect more than a few slushy spots on secondary roadways, especially in the higher terrain. However, a coating to 2" of snow is possible on non-paved surfaces.. Any wet snow is most likely between 4-8 p.m. and may lead to areas of lower visibility. Make sure to reduce speed and increase following distance during the afternoon commute to minimize the risk of hydroplaning. For York and LanCo, precip. should fall as plain rain
  5. Temp responding pretty quickly despite a fair amount of clouds - up to 37 here.
  6. Temp already above freezing here - 32.8 under filtered sun.
  7. Yep. Much better chance you get something white later on today than for me.
  8. This season is a top 5 for sure. Not sure it ranks #1 - my mowing stats aren't as in depth as some of my winter stats. I can tell you that the analytics say there's a 97% likelihood that I will mow again in the next few weeks. Always go with the analytics.
  9. 25 was the low here in the historic district - currently it's 29 under a deck of high cloudiness. With many hours of temps below 28 last night, hopefully that puts the kabosh on the 2022 lawnmowing season. Next mow, which will be TBD prior to the first snowfall down here, will be the 56th of the season.
  10. It was on until 5pm today. Turning the heat on when I go to bed...pains me to say that. It's 62 in the house right now
  11. Lowest temp here for the season already - 30.7. Temp has leveled off over the past 60-90 minutes.
  12. He might regret leaving the high ground of Adams County off of this list...
  13. This is what the pro from Millersville is saying Any brief period of wet #snow N/W of I-81 is most likely between 3-8 p.m. Tuesday. Accumulations of a coating - 1" (non-paved surfaces) are most likely in the higher terrain of Perry, northern Dauphin, Cumberland, & Franklin Co's. Roads will just be wet for the afternoon commute.
  14. Yeah...I was starting to hum the Southern California Trojans fight song imaging Traveler the horse circling the Coliseum. Not a fan of USC but that fight song gives me goosebumps.
  15. Exactly! And it happens nearly every winter. We could be clear and 10 at 7am and IP/ZR at 7pm and 32.
  16. Interesting that you've gone from 32 to 45 so far today, while here the temp has only risen from 38 up to 42.
  17. MU on tomorrow: (1/2) A double-barreled storm system will bring periods of rain to southeastern PA from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. The counterclockwise flow around the primary area of low pressure will partially disrupt the north-to-northeasterly flow of cold air to its southeast.. (2/2) Thus, warmer air being drawn north/west into the LSV should face little resistance. However, the rain may still start as a brief period of wet snow.. or mixed rain and snow.. N/W of I-81. Snow won't accumulate on roadways, but a quick coating - 1" is possible on ridgetops
  18. No one got screwed like Lancaster did last year...
  19. Thanks - that's why I asked. You could drive 90 or so minutes from your place and depending on the direction go from an average of just over 2' to over 8'.
  20. Just curious...what is your normal seasonal snow total where you're at? I know you get snow often, and it is often nickel and dime, but I don't know what it all adds up to on average.
