Fn prednisone is crazy. I lay in bed wide awake thinking stuff like, “This would be a good time to paint the house or put on an addition.”

Yesterday was kind of funny going to the Maryland Beer Fest. Everything tasted the exact same.

I first got symptoms of a cold the weekend of September 9th. I had a dentist appt on the 12th and in trying to be respectful, I took a Covid test and was negative. Since then I’ve been diagnosed with bronchitis and most recently a sinus infection. I’ve been on two antibiotics, prednisone, albuterol, and steroid nasal sprays. The bronchitis cleared up with the first antibiotic and the albuterol. It just never cleared my head so I had a snot culture last Thursday. It’s not officially a sinus infection because the results aren’t back but she was confident enough to start a new antibiotic. I’m feeling better after a day and a half of amoxicillin, but still congested, especially my right ear. I lost taste and smell 17 days ago. I’ve tested myself a few times throughout for Covid, but I think I missed the contagious window, so never a positive result. It’s been frustrating but not debilitating. I haven’t missed any work though I probably have spread some of it around. I do think it’ll get better soon. @mattie g gave me hope when he said he lost angio something or other for three weeks.

I’m pretty sure Doug Hill was a PG cop that was a weather enthusiast. I’m not sure he had a met degree when he started on TV but am probably wrong. Regardless, I used to love watching him and Glenn Brenner banter.

As an old Senators fan, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Frank Howard. I remember heading to the All-Star game at RFK in July, 1969, only to turn around when the game was postponed due to rain. The game was played the following day and Frank hit a dinger.

As a cat owner, this is all the “proof” that I need.

Thanks for the hopeful words, albeit ones that I didn’t know. Unrelated, I’m the sponsor of a hiking club at the school I teach at, and presently my student members are on an evening/early night hike. They are making their way on a trail to an abandoned church for Halloween. Unbeknownst to all of them except the club president, I’m already at the church.

I'd love to talk fall beer and food, but the first week of September I got a "cold" and bronchitis. My chest is doing better by taking Albuterol, but I'm still battling tons of congestion and an ear that won't unclog. Though the worst is that I have had zero smell or taste for over a week. And I mean nothing! By the way, I had covid last February, but with this recent illness, I've tested several times and haven't had a positive covid test.
