  1. Be as cavalier as you want, I guess, but there's this from my industry (law firms/legal): BREAKING: Davis Wright Staffer Dies After Leaving Work With Flu-Like Symptoms A Davis Wright Tremaine LLP executive legal assistant who worked in Washington state and left work on Tuesday after reporting flu-like symptoms has died, the firm announced Friday, adding that it will close two of its offices in the state and a third location in Portland.
  2. My law firm closed today. It is likely we will be closed for another two - three weeks but that isn't confirmed. All state court jury trials - civil and criminal are canceled through April 3 These are appropriate moves to try and keep the curve from being too steep. It's a pain for me to work from home, but, really, the least I can do to try and stay healthy and keep those around me healthy. Including my mother who is high risk to die if she gets this at her age and with her co-morbidities.
  3. It wasn't concentrated in a few weeks. The death rate was miniscule compared to this. How is this so hard to grasp?
  4. I thought the lack of activity showed a nice maturity and understanding from the Board for a change, myself.
  5. Also, if jake gyllanhall and friends see report a 25 foot wall of water hitting Nova Scotia , why do they immediately go to street level?
  6. On an up note, the rain turned to snow in The Day After Tomorrow.
  7. No. It hasn’t. The digital snow thread was barely touched this year.
  8. All things being equal w/ the COVID-19 dealie, this is a bit alarming: https://twitter.com/nerd_hawk/status/1235800486063685633?s=20
  9. Re: COVID-19 - this thread unroll from a doctor in England is particularly helpful: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1235127363341553667.html
  10. So...I was just asked here at work what's going on with the weather. I haven't been paying attention to the local news - are they playing up tonight like it's a thing?
  11. Likely been here for awhile, frankly.
  12. I mean, I am not expecting anything either in terms of snow here, but at least it's noteworthy that everything at least has the storm this far out. Maybe someone will score somewhere in the northeast with this.
  13. And others definitely disagree. No need to get into subjective arguments. That's unpleasant for some folks, especially because such days in April usually come with a north wind.
  14. I lived in East Nashville for the 1998 tornado. Sometime if you all want I can recount living through that one. My office bldg. downtown was massively damaged and my home also had significant damage. But check out this overlay in this tweet of the Nashville tornados from 1933, 1998 and the one last night. That's...absolutely uncanny: https://twitter.com/WCM_Krissy/status/1234822047571881984
  15. Not sure I agree it's a trash post. It had substantive information and his editorial that it was a long shot to begin with was not wrong.
  16. I bumped the futility thread on January 21. In hindsight - that was the exact moment I realized this winter was a dead ratter.
  17. Coming into view now - 3rd worst or tied for 3rd worst at each airport as it currently stands.
  18. The Oz this winter is reminding me of is the HBO show version...
  19. A .1 on the in the last few days of the month to ruin the February shutout would be SO in keeping with this winter...
  20. The crocuses in my yard have been up for about 12 days now - and are vibrant in the sun this AM.
  21. I guess on an up note my SAD has been pretty at bay this February. Usually peaks about now with what is generally a series of cloudy February days. It has been sunnier than usual this month, from my recall as compared to other February months.
