  1. Tough to say at this point... but the GFS looks cold with prospects for snow. Might have a better idea by the weekend.
  2. BUF sums up the model trends pretty well... although a WNW wind is better for us than WNY. Over the past 24 hours model guidance has become decidedly less impressive on the lake effect setup, with boundary layer flow more WNW, lesssynoptic scale moisture, and a faster ending on Monday. If these model trends continue, the potential for significant lake effect snow may be off the table. That said, there is plenty of time for model guidance to trend back in the other direction on these subtle details with this event still 4 days away.
  3. Yeah. Today's 12z GFS would be spectacular. Lock that in please.
  4. Snowing fairly hard in South Russell. The band is on the move though. Sure feels like Winter out there.
  5. Nice to see an OHWeather snow forecast. It has been too long.
  6. Its hard to tell the direction the trees fell... although it seems they fell from a south to north direction. A little further south on Synder around Kenston schools power poles were down as well. Just east of the picture DTA posted is Wood Acre trail that had significant damage which continued on east through the Auburn lakes community. Looking forward to a seeing some flakes late this week.
  7. Lots of damage at the corner of Snyder Rd and East Washington in Bainbridge. Trees and power lines down all over the place. There seemed to be distinct path on east down East Washington. Wonder if there was a brief spin-up in that area.
  8. It was a pretty wild storm. Impressive winds... it was loud outside with the combo or rain and high winds. Looks like the worst of it was south of here. We went from extremely dry to wet in a short amount of time.
  9. What a Fall we have had so far. Too bad the leaf color is so dull this year. Lake temps are still in the low 60's. I'm looking forward to a more active weather pattern... and the long range looks cold. Maybe a white Halloween?
  10. Picked up .35" of rain last night... most rain I've had in quite some time. At least it will keep the dust down. I can't remember the last time is was this dry. Back to mild temps, blue skies and sun.
  11. What an awesome stretch of weather we've had. August felt more like late September. It has been awfully dry... just 1.30" for the month IMBY. The leaves are dropping like crazy. Much earlier than last year.
  12. After two consecutive mornings with lows in the 40's I'm looking forward to the heat.
  13. It was 36 imby yesterday morning with some frost on the rooftops. Not near as cold this morning. Hopefully that is the last of the temps in the 30's for awhile. Looking forward to the warmth this week.
  14. Made it down to 32 last night. Another frosty morning.
  15. Made it down to 30.5 IMBY last night. Looks like another frost/freeze possible tonight. Ugly start to May but at least the sun is shining.
  16. That's crazy. Take a drive a few miles inland... its a winter wonderland.
  17. Measured the same here. Its pretty nasty out there. Power flickered a few times. The temp is holding steady at 30 IMBY. Looks like we may add another inch or two.
  18. CLE issued advisories for 3 - 7". With marginal temps and a warm ground it will be interesting to see how much it accumulates. As you mentioned, it will take heavier rates for bigger totals. The good news is that it will all disappear quickly.
  19. We'll see what happens. I'm completely out of snow mode but early and late season snows are always interesting events. I won't forget April 2005 anytime soon... That was an amazing late season event. I was living in Lyndhurst at the time and I think we had 23".
  20. Right around the same total here - 14.2". Winds are really howling and blowing the snow around. Impressive event. Even with the cold temps the past few days the bottom layer of the snow is wet.
  21. Wow... That Huron band is starting to get organized. It's awfully thin and just to the west of here... Hopefully it swings a little further east and parks for the night.
  22. It has been pouring snow here. Looks like 3"'since 5pm or so. This area has been lucky to be under the band for awhile.
  23. We've probably had close to 6" so far in Chagrin. This fluff is blowing around though. Inversion must be pretty low as the sun is peeking through at times.
  24. The snow started around 6:30 or 7pm last night. Tough to measure but I'll go with 3.2" as of 6:30am. We'll see what today brings. The radar should start to blossom as winds turn more northerly. Huron bands are tough to come by but this is an ideal set-up. It will be interesting to see where is sets up today.
  25. The snow seems to be consolidating out west. The main show will probably be the LES that develops behind the storm. It will be interesting to see where the huron band sets up. Wonder if the persistent easterly flow will be tough to overcome at first.
