Blizzard of 93

The 18z GFS brings snow to northern & western sections of CTP on Wednesday. The rest of us need to wait until Saturday to see our May snow as @MAG5035 discussed earlier. This could be a historic few days of CTP weather coming up!

Well, the 18z GEFS is on board for CTP snow next weekend.10 of the individual ensemble members even get snow into the LSV. A couple of them would be very nice snow hits. I just had to double check the calendar... unbelievable that this is even on the table!

I think that I am turning over a new leaf ! I just commented on current conditions and didn’t mention the “s” word!

There’s a breeze here & I don’t feel any humidity outside right now. We will be begging for a day like this in July!

I used to watch Weather World every day back when I was growing up, especially in the Fall & Winter. Fred, Paul, Elliott & many others that ended up at Accuweather were forecasters that I looked forward to watching every day. Also, my good old weather radio would update the CTP forecast in the early evening. Then, during the 6 pm news, I would flip around the 3 local TV channels to try to catch the weather on each station. The Weather Channel “local on the 8’s” and their long range 7 day forecast once an hour were something to look forward to as well. Before the internet was around, these were the things that weather fans needed to do to get the weather.

It’s just remarkable that snow keeps even showing up on several model runs this late for our region. I don’t recall ever tracking a even a remote chance in May!

Lol ! I actually said “The odds are only 1 in 10 million of this verifying!” But they say that you need to play to win!

The GFS & Euro also have some snow for us later next week as well, although their timing is different than the Canadian.

Ok, now to the really good stuff... The 0z Canadian has some Mother’s Day snow for much of CTP next weekend! This will probably not bring a smile to most mothers out there, but it sure would make at least a few of us in here happy!

Good morning everyone! It looks like another glorious spring day is on the way today. The light showers appear to be pushed mostly to our south, so hopefully the southern tier gets a good day as well.

The 12z EPS Control was historically phenomenal for May 11th ! Hopefully the old adage of not wanting to be in the bullseye this far out will apply here. Also, we only need to root for a small north trend over the next 8 days to put the LSV & most of CTP in the bullseye. This would be a history making weather event. In the year of unprecedented current events, why not have a warning level snow in May ? Let’s win the May snow lottery ! The odds are only 1 in 10 million of this verifying!

Before someone thinks that my account got hacked, yes I did see the 12z GFS today. How does everyone feel about the chance of some CTP snow on May 11th ?! It is crazy that the models are even showing this as a possibility in this time period. We will have well below normal temps, so maybe some of us will luck into some super late snow history ?

It is just about a perfect spring day today with temp near 70 & no humidity!

Sorry to disappoint... Lol ! I didn’t mean to drop the ball ! Good news for you & everyone else hoping for some outlandishly late snow! The 12z Canadian today has snow for southern PA next weekend, yes, May 9th! Hopefully more counties open up next week so we can have a snow chase to the land of @Cashtown_Coop or @MAG5035 or @Bubbler86 ! A solid period of well below normal temps appear to be on the way for next week. It might as well make a little history & snow On us! Nothing would shock me at this point with everything going on now!

My final rain tally is ... a ton ! I only measure snow ...!

Imagine this precip today in February with a 1040 High parked over southern Quebec! We would be buried in snow! Ok, time for me to wake up from my snow dream..!

The 6z GFS & 12z GFS still are trying to bring snow to parts of CTP in May! Decent snow on the GFS for May 6th is only about 25 miles from my house. Lock it in! Most models also have well below normal temps for early to mid May. I am happy with delaying the heat & humidity as long as possible!

The 12z Euro yesterday had what would be a historic snowstorm for CTP on May 6th. A few weeks ago @anotherman was hoping that we would see snow maps in May! @paweather would be on board with this, but @Voyager might be a little upset ! Since @MAG5035 didn’t post the good stuff yesterday, I will do the honors!

Sadly, this event will most likely be the last time that I get to post snow maps for CTP until this Fall... The 18z NAM brings snow to a northern & Western areas of CTP this evening. Maybe our friend in Clearfield will get in on some snow tonight? Ok, maybe I’ll take a look at the 0z model run tonight too...

The rain is starting to pick up here in Marysville. The radar looks juiced to our south & west and is moving slowly. I would have loved to see this current radar a month or two ago... Wellsboro & Binghamton reported snow at the last hour with temps in the low 30’s, which is very remarkable for today’s date! Maybe @pasnownut will get some snow at his northern tier place ?!

The 0z NAM gets some snow on Sunday evening into mainly northern & western parts of CTP. It even shows a little snow getting into western parts of The LSV.

Well you might get your wish if the 12z Euro delivers what it is advertising for Sunday night. This is remarkable to even see it on the Euro this late in the year. Also, this is only 4 to 5 days away and not some crazy day 15 forecast. This would be something to see!

Where was this pattern from January to March? The 0z EPS has this look to end April!
