Congrats, what do you think of the chances this evening for the LSV? The 18z 3k NAM still likes the idea of a changeover to snow for most of us by later tonight.

The 6z NAM is back to providing some hope for snow tonight in the LSV.

The 0z NAM, along with most model runs today were not very promising for snow, especially near the LSV. Hopefully, we will have a rally tomorrow morning. I will consider it a victory if I see Any snow flakes in the air tomorrow night or Saturday.

The 6z NAM is still on board for snow!

The 0z NAM held serve & delivers snow for Friday evening to most of CTP! Hopefully the rest of the 0z models agree!

The 3k Hi-Res NAM was on board for snow as well at the end of its 18z run.

The 850 temps on the NAM look to be plenty cold enough to support snow on Friday evening. Surface temps look to be falling through the low to mid 30’s by early evening on Friday.

Yes, me neither in my 43 years have I seen May snow anywhere that I have lived in the LSV. I have been following the Weather rather closely for nearly 30 of my years. I don’t remember May snow ever being a forecast possibility in all of that time.

Lol...here we go again...! Once again, this is not my “thought process”. The National Weather Service counts any & all snow that falls from October to May as the “Seasonal” total for that particular year, for example October of 2019 to May 2020. So yes, if the miracle May snow takes place on Friday & Saturday, it will indeed count for the 19-20 “season”. I think that it would be awesome if we got bailed out of the worst snow season on record at MDT by some historic once every hundred year May snow!

The 0z & 6z GFS continued to push the best snow south of CTP on Friday night. The 0z Canadian & Euro keep the snow confined to northern & western PA. However, the good old 6z NAM continued to deliver snow to most of CTP, including the LSV! The NAM is still a compromise solution between the major global models.

Sign me up for some CTP snow history, especially in the LSV ! Wow! I would be thrilled just to see some snow in the air over the next few days, but this would be incredible. This 0z NAM run was the best way for me to end my birthday!

The 18z GFS manages to keep the Friday evening storm under us. It keeps the best snow in MD & VA. At this point, my trusty handbook says to take the compromise solution run of the 18z NAM! Here is the 18z GFS just for entertainment.

Good morning, the 0z Euro & GFS continue to show the chance of some snow by Saturday for most of CTP. This a a great birthday present today for me to be still tracking snow on May 5th ! I don’t recall ever having this chance for even snow showers in May in the LSV.
