The 12z EPS keeps the snow train tracking along for the end of the week winter storm potential!

The 12z Canadian ensemble shows how the late week storm could possibly produce snow for CTP.

The 12z Euro has an interesting storm evolution for the late week potential. The low is forced to develop to our south and exits off to the east. The High is in a good spot to our North as it builds in while the storm develops to the south. It eventually produces a little snow on the far northwest side of the precip shield. This storm needs watched to give us a potential solution like the Canadian from last night. If the High builds in a little more quickly, this could be the one that our friend in Williamsport was calling for this month!

The 12z global models all have a little snow for parts of CTP on Tuesday or Tuesday night.

By the way, l am a life long Phillies fan! It’s time to end the 10 year playoff drought this season. The NL east is tough, but they should be able to contend.

CTP has the mention of snow in the Harrisburg area forecast Monday night & Tuesday. Monday Night A chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Tuesday A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 10am and 11am, then a chance of rain showers after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Full steam ahead!!! The snow train is not stopping until it becomes virtually impossible next month!

That 0z Euro map has the Lehigh Valley and northern NJ bullseye correct. That area has been the bullseye most of this season.

The 0z Euro last night brought solid Advisory level snow to most of CTP on Tuesday.

CTP is starting to mention the Monday winter weather chance. As the cold air begins to recede early next week, we could see some precipitation return to the area. There are timing differences in the medium-range models, with the 10/12z GFS bringing light precip into central PA Sun night/early Monday while the 10/00z ECMWF holds the precip off until Monday night/early Tues. Regardless of exact timing, it could be cold enough, initially, for a bit of wintry precip early next week.

Anyone want to hop a train out to Colorado or Wyoming this weekend for their blizzard? Wow!

That storm that you mention late next week into next weekend needs watched for CTP winter storm potential. It would not take much with the right track and timing to pull the available cold air into the storm.

The 18z GEFS is on board as well for the early week snow chance. Several of the individual ensemble members are juiced up.

The 18z GFS Para is on board as well but brings lighter amounts of snow this run.

The 18z GFS still brings snow on Monday pm to the southern half of PA into MD and northern VA. I hear the snow train approaching!

I really like seeing the 3 inch snow line well into Virginia at this time on all of the major ensembles!

The 12z GEFS, Canadian ensembles and EPS say to load up the snow train next week!

Harrisburg averages over 5 inches of snow in March and a few tenths in April. We still have a solid month in which we could score measurable snow!

Last year we had good snow showers in early May!

Just a few years ago in 2017 and 2018, we had our largest snow events of the season during the last 2 weeks of March. Both of these events delivered over a foot of snow to the Harrisburg area. We are already above normal snow for the season in our region this year, but I certainly wouldn’t mind adding some stat padding snows in the next few weeks! It is not time to punt! I want at least 1 more snow train ride!

Here is that 18z GFS! Nice....! I am going post these while I can. We are in the 4th quarter of the season and the clock is ticking. Win or lose, I plan on enjoying these last few weeks of tracking!
