  1. I was in Philly 2 years ago when the Lions beat the Eagles. Fun weekend but it was a miserable game!
  2. I’m focused on the pattern change for mid month. The trough looks to be setting up in the east. Tracking snow season should be underway by mid month.
  3. I love early snow… I love late snow… I love ALL snow whenever I can get it!
  4. MDT did it! 32 !!! No jets must have landed this hour! Current conditions at Harrisburg, Harrisburg International Airport (KMDT) Lat: 40.19°NLon: 76.76°WElev: 312ft. Fair 32°F 0°C Humidity 85% Wind Speed NE 3 mph Barometer 30.35 in (1027.9 mb) Dewpoint 28°F (-2°C) Visibility 10.00 mi Last update 4 Nov 6:56 am EDT
  5. The last few days have been below normal in CTP. The next few days should also be below normal. The average high yesterday at Harrisburg MDT is 59 and the average high at Williamsport is 56.
  6. Hopefully we are tracking an active winter weather threat before Turkey Day this year.
  7. Here is the + PNA toward mid month on today’s GEFS & EPS.
  8. The pattern should turn colder once again as we head toward mid month and beyond. The telleconnections look to be favorable to deliver cold air to the east thanks to a -EPO and +PNA. Here is the -EPO towards mid month on the GEFS & EPS today.
  9. A few jets must have taken off this hour, because MDT actually went back up to 40 as of 9 pm…
  10. MDT is already down to 39 as of 8pm. Hopefully tonight the freezing barrier is broken for the first time this season.
  11. I’m seeing forecast highs in the low 60’s per CTP during the middle of next week. The average high for today’s date is 59 at MDT. So this week we are below normal and next week slightly above. These are all very seasonal temps for early November.
  12. The heat is now on at my house as well since yesterday. We made it to November 1st this year!
  13. These seasonal forecasts by pro mets & weather services are very well researched and informative. Their accuracy tends to not end up being too reliable. We have seen forecasts in previous years when an epic season is forecast and it turns out to be subpar. We have also seen forecasts for a below average snow season turn out to be a good winter. I enjoy reading these forecasts every year, but we always need to of course see how the season unfolds.
  14. @Itstrainingtime Nice Sixers win tonight especially with Embiid & Harris not playing this evening. 7 players scored double figure points.
  15. It’s go time for me now that snow potentials are back in the forecast!
  16. Here are some comments about later this week from CTP’s discussion this morning. Thursday morning may be the coldest so far with many places across the western and northern mountains seeing mid-upper 20s with lower 30s in the lower Susq Valley. With another disturbance bringing a chance of some showers, some areas could see snow before temperatures warm during the day. Wide range of model solutions toward the end of the week leading to greatly different weather possibilities. .
  17. Here is what CTP has for my forecast. Friday Night A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Saturday A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  18. They closed it out tonight! Great win! Hope you had a great time down there!
  19. I am with you on this! We always set November 1st as the goal to wait to turn on the heat. Most years we cave in October sometime. It’s been chilly a few times this past week, but I think we can make it for 2 more days!
  20. The funny part about this map is that it jackpots Tamaqua & Pillow, the home of 2 of our warm weather fans!
  21. This is the map for Friday evening. Strong signal at this range for an ensemble.
  22. Now that some of you are now awake this fine Saturday morning…I present the 0z Euro Control run for the snow chance next weekend! This will make the weekend coffee taste even better…for most of us anyway!
