  1. The pattern looks much more workable for winter weather opportunities towards Christmas. Nice ridging over the top, near Alaska and near Greenland. The south east ridge looks muted as well. Better days are ahead for Winter weather fans after this week. Here is the 0z GEFS for Christmas evening.
  2. The 0z Euro says that the warm up is over by next Sunday with highs in the 30s.
  3. The MJO is heading into phase 7 and then towards phase 8. The EPO is heading negative and staying there from the 20th on according to the ensembles. The models should respond with better looks for cold and storm chances for the week of the 20th and beyond, hopefully just in time for Christmas!
  4. Tonight? I see weak radar returns in CTP but I don’t think anything is reaching the ground.
  5. I hope everyone goes back 1 page this morning to look at the 6z GFS that @losetoa6 posted today to see the Christmas week storm….If only…
  6. I think for the week of the 20th, we will see the models continue to respond to the EPO going negative and the MJO going into phase 7. The AO and NAO also should be heading towards at least neutral in that period as well according to the telleconnections that I looked at yesterday.
  7. The snow map is in the Mid Atlantic thread this morning.
  8. Merry Christmas dreams on the 6z GFS! Looks like sustainable cold at the end of the run as well.
  9. Lol! This must be the weakest Snow total information statement that I’ve ever seen. It is better than no snow report I guess…
  10. I saw 0.0 snow today! Not 1 flake! But, my wife & daughters said there were a few flurries In Marysville in the late afternoon.
  11. The 6z GFS is showing some light at the end of the tunnel as we approach Christmas.
  12. Lots of virga on the radar this morning. Maybe we will see a few flakes?
  13. I guess this is better than nothing… Here is the latest from CTP.. 843 PM EST Tue Dec 7 2021 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Pennsylvania. .DAY ONE...Tonight. Light snow will start late tonight and continue overnight. Significant snow accumulations are not expected at this time. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Light snow will continue Wednesday morning and taper off during the afternoon hours. Significant snow accumulations are not expected at this time.
  14. Great point! I also have some extra time off around the holidays. Hopefully we will be busy tracking & scoring snow events during the holiday weeks!
  15. Here is CTP’s latest for tomorrow: .SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM WEDNESDAY/... Overnight model consensus continued to weaken and shunt deeper moisture south of my CWA from a suppressed system heading off the mid Atlantic coast at midweek. Setup involving a weak clipper passing north of PA will produce just a bit of light snow late tonight into Wednesday, with secondary development too weak and too far south and east to give any appreciable accumulation to central PA. downward POP trend continued with this package for Tuesday night and Wednesday with the best chance for light WAA snow over the southwest mtns/southern tier of CPA.
  16. That was a disappointing NAM run for sure. Let’s see what the rest of 0z has to say later.
  17. It’s all good. No denying the warm up next week, but it should be temporary. I’m looking forward to the minor event on Wednesday. Then I’m looking ahead to the week of the 20th when we should be starting to return to a better pattern. The MJO should be going into phase 7 which should help to turn the pattern more favorable for winter weather towards the holidays.
  18. Yes, back to optimistic thoughts… The 18z EPS was a step in the right direction.
  19. Yeah, it will probably never ever snow again and stuff…. My glass is always half full, but yours seems to always be half empty…. You might want to consider taking a break if it gets you this upset.
  20. Here is CTP’s latest Hazardous Outlook for most of our region. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Light snow accumulation between a coating and 2 inches is becoming more probable on Wednesday and could result in travel disruptions.
