Here is a portion of DT’s write up this evening on his website: “Interior portions of the Mid-Atlantic and New England should expect to see a major snowstorm. The probability is high of 6+ inches of snow WEST of Interstate 85 in North Carolina, and in southwest Virginia, all of the Shenandoah Valley, the eastern half of West Virginia, western and central Maryland, central and eastern Pennsylvania, interior southeast New York, and interior portions of New England. In fact, some of these areas have a pretty good chance of receiving 12 inches of snow.”

The major models all had a drastic change today with the storm chance Sunday/ Monday. We went from the Euro & GFS taking the storm to Bermuda yesterday to a perfect track blizzard today at 12z. We still have 5 days to go, but the overall pattern supports an east coast storm. The track will waffle back & forth the next few days. I like where we are sitting at this time.

Lol…several near misses on phasing on the 18z GFS. There will be plenty of chances in the next 2 weeks.

The 12z major ensembles are all loudly signally a pattern of snow chances. The majority of the snow falls in week two. The GEFS & Euro ensembles both have the 6 inch line near the MD border. The Canadian ensemble has the 6 inch line down towards DC! These maps don’t guarantee snow, but these type of signals on the ensembles usually produce when they ramp up like this! Lots of tracking ahead!

CTP is in for Saturday night snow chance. Saturday Night A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
