    Union county NJ deluge along with 40 mph winds. Over an inch of rain so far.

    Good to see! Might come down to a nowcasting event. Although this storm won’t be the phase bomb the data showed a couple days ago that, it still will be a formidable storm .

    Just don’t bother tracking 7 days out, heck wait 24 hours in.

    The models haven’t gotten any better in decades with setups like this. That’s why with storms in winter we can’t trust any one model 48 hours out. We learn and move on.

    0Z EURO is a coastal hugger with 2-5 inches of rain and 40-50 mph winds from the NJ coast up thru NYC.

    Pouring in Union County NJ. This event is sure localized but I’ll take it.

    I’m down in port Newark. This one was bad.

    Eastern Union County ( Elizabethport). Incredible lightning and heavy rain.

    Storms are exploding near Allentown and portions of WNJ. Slow movers as well: it’s going to be a long day for many locales. 6-7 inches of rain isn’t out of the question for areas just southwest of NYC.

    Much more active day today in terms of severe weather. Should be good to go between 3-6pm around NYC

    Heavy rain and lightning here in Kenilworth NJ. Radar looks great expecting 2 inches of rain here.

    Yeh I think we can put this one to sleep fairly quickly

    Oh there will definitely be a storm. The one thing we can write off is a storm cutting to our west due to the strong blocking up north. The question remains if this can phase and come up the coast or will the wave be progressive and go out to sea.
