  1. I'd fire any of my employees should they publicly stab me in the back too. I think Fauci got this one wrong based on crap info coming out of China. I just dont know what more Trump was supposed to do with the info being given to him. Hell he faced backlash over banning flights from China, the whole thing was labeled xenophobic and pro chinese rallys were being thrown in NYC, probably spreading the virus.
  2. If Fauci is a leading expert on the subject and hes quoted as late as February saying we have nothing to worry about who else was Trump supposed to get his information from? His job is to make decisions based on the facts presented to him. Its the experts jobs to give him accurate information.
  3. I'd fire him because on Jan 21st and Feb 29th he was on record that the virus wasn't a threat to the US. You cant go on TV saying we have nothing to worry about on February 29th and then go on CNN in April saying lives would have been saved had they listened to you in February.
  4. That’s right up there with “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
  5. Guess what Obama’s approval rating was in April 2012...45% I’d put any any amount of money down that Trump wins this fall.
  6. I wonder how this windstorm will compare to spring 2018. I think there were a few 80+ gusts in the area. I vaguely remember a rail car being blown over during that event. edit: this article says 75 and only a tractor trailer. https://www.wgrz.com/mobile/article/weather/recapping-wednesdays-windy-weather-that-hit-wny/71-535251788
  7. Ahh crap you’re right. I saw nurses in the headline and was just thinking medical field only. Yea I think that’s overkill. While I’d love $50k for my wife and I were basically just printing money at this point. We won’t need toilet paper, just some nice worn in greenbacks lol.
  8. For mine they had set the post incorrectly. So when I had it repaired I took a ton of pictures and I think I found a diagram online showing how they should have been set. The posts were so far off center of the hole they were surrounded by concrete on three sides. Im pretty sure I submitted the photos when I paid the $15 or whatever for the case. For yours I’d probably take pictures of your install combine with the install manual to show it was correct, and let the judge decide.
  9. One of our local healthcare providers actually gave all patient facing hourly staff working with covid patients a $10/hr hazard pay increase, which will work out to more than $25k a year with OT.
  10. I had to do the same. Judge scolded the company for wasting everyone’s time. They did make me get it fixed on my dollar first before I could take them to court.
  11. You’re still under warranty right? Mine was covered for a year.
  12. One of these days all of these dead ash trees are going to come down in bunches. Most of mine are still standing but have been dead a couple seasons now.
  13. The current process gets rid of them because it’s unrealistic for them to run. No one is simply handing them a pile of money to run and be on a level playing field with thousands of other unqualified candidates.
  14. Who gets to run? And what percentage is allocated to each person? not saying the systems perfect, but it’s better than most. If another country was a better place to live than here I’d move there. Every country I’ve ever worked in was falling over themselves to hire educated Americans.
  15. I agree with this, just keep in mind that it would mean only Billionaires would have any success running for national office unless someone successfully crowdsourced their campaign. Bernie has been the best at that and he was woefully under funded. So necessary evil maybe? I don’t approve of the stock buybacks that occurred after the 09 bailouts, but I do see the need for bailing out some industries. For example, there would have been an economic collapse if you weren’t able to pull your money out of a bank or if your homeowners insurer couldn’t cover a claim.
  16. I would put money on oxygen deprivation, not the virus attacking brain cells as the root cause.
  17. Any examples of something that you’d like to see changed that won’t be because of the power 1% yield over govt policy?
  18. Ya I’m more referring to the current situation where you can make $52k a year doing nothing and some of the more extreme socialists ideas out there, like universal income. A lot of those people milking the system for 25k a year plus food coups are also working side hustles, paying no taxes. That said I think in our lifetimes universal income becomes a reality because of advancements in robotics and AI. For example, most freight will become completely automated via self driving vehicles and robots in our lifetime.
  19. I’ve seen it in all demographics and industries Ive worked in. There are a ton of hard working people out there like yourself and I but there’s more than enough people who’d rather just sit on their ass and get paid to make backstops taken advantage of. (Socialism) Or not work as hard as their fellow employee and get paid the same. (Unions). I may simply have seen more of it than you because of the demographic I group in.
  20. What if flattening the curve is simply giving the virus more time to mutate into something more deadly... The reason the Flu hasn’t been eradicated is because it’s constantly changing rendering vaccines ineffective.
  21. It’s artificially lowered because we’re on lockdown. The problem is it won’t disappear quickly. So how long can we afford to stay locked down?
  22. #humansarelazy lol. TBH I wouldn’t mind sitting at home for 50% of my pay, but all my work would just be sitting here waiting for me.
  23. A local large union electrical contractors employees bitched enough about it to get them to lay off everyone...there are people who will do anything to sit at home and collect a check. A couple of my projects are now on hold as I wait for them to collect their cheese.
  24. The number I have been paying attention to is global new cases per day. While not perfect as there's no way to currently test enough it is a good indicator of whether we are reaching a plateau in rate of spread. Once we do that then we can think about actually containing it. There are currently countries like India and Russia where I think the virus is spreading explosively but without testing to track. Its nearly impossible to socially distance yourself in the worlds most populous country... https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-04-07/social-distancing-family-one-room
