  1. I said that in the other thread…wouldn’t take much for areas outside of NH where the tornado hit.
  2. Both of these posts are well said gentlemen..Well said. And I agree with both of these ideas very much so.
  3. Thanks Wiz…very enlightening info for non MET folks like me.
  4. And not flat and wide open where those events can roll in unimpeded for dozens of miles..very hilly and mountainous here..flat like a board there.
  5. This is true too. Very good points. Maybe I more mean…that storms many times weaken as they come in here. And I’m further west and they weaken many times as they come through. And we had good sun yesterday and heating. I know there is more to it than just that, but maybe that is more my focus.
  6. Very true Don. Agree. That’s why this is really a safe and good place to live for most folks…the weather is mostly benign here which make it a safe place to settle. Sure, extreme things can happen as you pointed out, if everything comes together right, but that’s the rare event.
  7. Even the high end ones, aren’t that high end here most times. I had a rumble or two of thunder yesterday, zero lightening, and some heavy rain. It won’t take much for Saturday to be better than yesterday here. Tuesday was better than yesterday here. In fact yesterday was probably the weakest storm(s) this year. So Saturday I’m betting will be better here, because it wont take much at all for that to happen.,
  8. The way this spring/summer is going…the rain/storms are finding us this summer. It won’t be too long. Late last week they said we were in for a nice dry stretch…then Tuesday and today happened lol.
  9. Gotta agree with you on this Brett….some heavy rain and that’s it here…a good drink, and some rumbles of Thunder and she’s over. Typical severe SNE sh*t. As I/we figured. And we had lots of sun today too..92 degrees here for the hi.
  10. Funny, all I’ve been in were dry ones here….but I guess there is both.
  11. Sauna is dry heat. A steam bath is more like it.
  12. 84/74 here…definitely have the juice to fuel some storms…let’s bust the sun out and let her go to work.
  13. Agreed. Ya we’ve been gettin em this summer thats for sure…last few years/summers it was lean for certain in SNE.
  14. So many times though the clouds hang tough and cap the heating/destabilizing in these set ups…Will tomorrow be any different?
  15. That’s mostly my point…looks better north. So not thinking much happens in CT. But as I said, we’ll see how much sun we get tomorrow, and see how things come together? Looking good on paper fails more than not here with severe. But I’ll side on it not being a big deal in most of CT as of now.
  16. I’ll believe it when I see em coming in from the west tomorrow…severe underperforms 90% of the time here in SNE. We’ll see what it looks like tomorrow?
  17. Yes, The Nordic Lodge is awesome! Haven’t been in years, but it was fabulous when I went. Prime Rib was great too. Seafood is incredible as you said. Gonna make a point to go again soon.
  18. Well of course…we could get 6” next season I suppose. But I’ll bet against the 6” season next year, and also against another 12” season back to back that’s for sure..especially when average is about 50”. This isn’t Baltimore. So ya, we gonna bounce back this next winter season…you’ll see.
  19. It’s been a mundane summer here so far…not much heat at all, lots of clouds and humidity with very average temps.
  20. ‘20 too here Ginxy. Almost 3 months without rain(extremely lil) in western CT.
  21. Very true. But that was bad here….watering couldn’t/struggled to even keep up it was so hot and dry here that summer. But I hear ya.
  22. Ominous! Heading to St Agatha Friday. Lakeview celebrating 40th anniversary this weekend. Supposedly bringing my girl(she’s never been up there lol). One of her girlfriends stays the summer and Fall in Eagle Lake, so that got her to go with me. She’ll see it green instead of white, and 70-80 plus degrees warmer too. Should be fun. Staying on Long Lake. Haven’t been up there in 25 yrs in the summer, so I’m looking forward to it.
