  1. Off hour runs…are well, just OFF. They suck.
  2. As we figured…a few select spots..but that’s the extent.
  3. Got a good laugh…I like the metal folding chairs naked line. But this is just what we’re talking about…we knew as we closed in(especially the last 24-36 hrs) that the threat for wind would diminish…because most times that happens inland. Now of course it’s not a 100% certainty, but it’s very high 90’s percentiles easily. Those wind maps are almost always way inflated, and never verify. If we’re talking tropical systems, then that’s a different animal obviously. But these are more often than not duds regarding wind for most areas in SNE. The rain was prolific..but mostly forgettable for the most part. I know you wanted something exciting, I think we all did obviously, but this wasn’t it pal. But got a laugh out of your post..good one.
  4. Always, always take the under on wind in SNE on these types of things(except coastal areas/cape/islands), and you’ll be right 99.99% of the time. We tried to explain this for a week. And it happened yet again. Zero wind for most all of SNE in this, which is no surprise.
  5. I’ll say one thing so far…the rain is impressive….and the radar is looking relentlessly juiced..so a lot more where that came from. No wind here, so not surprising with that. We’ll see how things go overnight…
  6. Holy rain here…and radar is juiced as can be down south heading up this way…
  7. 8-12” now for northern Maine..with winter storm warnings up. Very good for us sledders…@lava rock, Dryslot.
  8. Lol…Roadhouse Blues. Roll baby Roll…All night long….Do it Robby Do it.
  9. Have to remember too…ya don’t need a fabulous pattern to get some good storms/snow during good climo Brett. I think alot of us/folks sometimes forget his.
  10. Yes to both. But even then(1/10)…Things sometimes don’t get going until after that. But it will be more concerning for sure. Not saying this is 2015, but that season had a blast furnace Xmas, with zilch until Friday, 1/24 when we had a wet snow 1-4” on a Friday night, and then the 0z euro brought back from the dead the blizzard for that Monday, 1/27, and then it was off to the races. So many times, it just takes an excruciatingly long while to get going. But I think we all expected this here in December.
  11. Ya…I’m not agreeing with that. 14-15 was horrible til the end of January. Way too early to tell that. Elnino’s are notorious for bad Decembers. So I very much disagree.
  12. Looking better for northern Aroostook county Maine..Winter storm watch up, a net gain enroute after all. That’s a win for us sledders.
  13. No surprise there. NAM always amps up, then goes back to reality at go time….just like clockwork.
  14. Actually I’ll have to disagree with you on a couple parts….I knew something would happen to negate the winds, because that’s what always happens with these, except very rarely. I explained that in the December thread. And no, we don’t live in a damaging wind area for the vast part. Sure damaging winds can and do happen on rare occasions(severe, tropical, the rare screamer, the rare tornado), but buy and large it’s not a damaging wind region.
  15. Good to see you’ve Finally come to your senses…as we tried to tell you yesterday and prior my friend. Wind fails much more often than not here. We just don’t live in a damaging wind area…unless tropical systems visit. Enjoy the big rains.
  16. Agreed. Lol. Unless, this keeps jumping east?
  17. I guess I should have said high end tropical storm winds, not 35 -40 mph, those are nothing. Especially with no leaves. If I’m wrong, I’ll gladly admit this was a surprise. Hoping Kevin is right…all inflatable’s blown into Maine.
  18. I’ll still take the way under here on winds…unless it’s a tropical system, 99% of the time its a snoozer here in that regard. NAM would be interesting here with a couple inches of snow, but I’ll sell that too. We’ll get 3 plus inches of rain, that’s what I’m pretty sure of though. Congrats who gets the snow, and the wind out east.
