  1. I don't spend much time in Jefferson but it seems to be a snow hole for whatever reason
  2. I thought about it. But thought you might not appreciate it.
  3. Don't know who reports around here... Not me! 18" is not outrageous if you were following the 6 hour rule. I measured about 18 hours into the storm lol so plenty of compaction but good enough for me.
  4. Took the kids skiing, pretty fantastic first day. Snow intensity has picked up again a bit, 1.1" since the last measurement, bringing the total to 13.3". Snow stake is at 13" which makes sense since I didn't really do any interim measurements and only measured this morning, so there was a lot of compaction. Would probably be more like 14-15" if I had done proper measurement but who cares.
  5. Hmm that may just be a radar thing. We had really heavy snow yesterday evening. Just ask Diane lol
  6. 12.2" measured a couple of hours ago here and light snow falling
  7. 12.2" here this morning; light snow continuing. Very scenic snow, it's like snow maker stuff. Cemented to the trees.
  8. Bretton Woods? We started accumulating around 1 pm or so - although it was very light for the first couple of hours
  9. Not sure specifically about Loon but it's some of the heaviest rates in memory right now here. Pretty much whiteout. I'd estimate around 8"
  10. Nope, it's ripping here too. Quite a plaster job. The birches are all bent over
  11. It's ripping now. And a bit winder but still not too bad.
  12. So far it's been a much nicer storm "part 1" than I expected... None of the wind that these things often have, which is allowing the snow to stick to everything. Very pretty. Estimating about 3" (eyeball, not measured). Got a way to go if we are going to get to the 12-18 in the forecast. But heck this year it'll be nice to have 6 (and the storm is just getting started). Kids wanted to do a last "snoccer" game earlier today before the snow got too deep lol. Was actually kinda fun
  13. It's actually a most common scenario for us!
  14. On my way to Conway. Started as mixed in Bretton Woods, all snow a few hundred feet up at the Highland Center, and plain from half way down the Notch to Bartlett
  15. It depends of course but my guess is that it's usually close to 50/50 - you get like 8-10 of heavy synoptic and then another 8-10 of progressively fluffier snow. The first batch often has a lot of wind associated with it, then it calms down so the second half can look a lot better in terms of scenery. At least that's my unscientific weenie memory
  16. Those are the storms when the synoptic part is over and it seems like it wasn't a big deal , then the wind shift and it turns into a huge hit. They're a lot of fun.
  17. If this things slows down in the Gulf of Maine it could be really good for us. Those tend to be our really good upslope events
