    Congrats, Alex

I'll believe it when it's at my stake. :)

It's been a good winter for us in spite of the cutters, but it's hard to get really excited when the rest of New England has been so awful. I think PF said it at some point, it's like being at a party by yourself. I honestly would rather not be in the bull's eye and see more in SNE

  2. It's amazing the effect that 1/2" of fresh snow has on people. Some renters just checked in and they were so excited. "We thought it would be awful with all the rain and we got here and all the trees are covered in snow and could barey see driving." They were so happy!!! The fact that there's still almost 2 feet on the ground helps too, you wouldn't know it rained with the fresh stuff on top.

  3. I'm not counting on tonight's snow on replenishing the snow pack but it's helped a lot make the driveway passable and that's a win. About 1/2" so far but it seems less intense now. And as PF mentions it helps a lot aesthetcally, especially since it's sticking to the trees

I have just under 14" at the snow stake.  Lots of sleet mixed in so the pack will condense and refreeze into a glacier if we get 1.5" liquid.

26" at the stake here and that's a low spot compared to more protected areas so not concerned about a wipeout, but the driveway WILL become a glacier, and that SUCKS. Snow has stopped, not doing anything at the moment, and temp has started inching back up - currently 25/18. I'm sure we will torch as soon as the winds pick up

Haha, I don't know if it would even be possible.  Your comment made me think, what could melt this in 24 hours?  Maybe at 85/67 for 24 hours?  9-10 inches of water with a very cold core temperature and literally just straight ice for the last 16"...interesting to think about.

That would be a cool analysis. Way more physics than I care to know. :)

In the meantime, crazy to think that it's going to melt when we are currently down to -6. But it will and we'll be the first ones in the Whites to rain as usual ;)

You can't make this stuff up anymore.

This is like the winter that seemingly wants to say "Thanks for putting up with 2012-2016 when Vermonters smoked more cirrus than herb".

I'm a bit too much on the edge there for my liking but verbatim, I'd take it. :)

  7. Measured 10.5 here, not as much as expected but VERY heavy stuff. Lots of sleet mixed in.

On the plus side this stuff skies fantastic, and we are starting to get some really nice depth in the woods. Took this picture of my ski pole this afternoon.

That's down south somewhere. I think eyewall lives in NC now.  Not sure where the pics are from.

Ooooooh I forgot that! I thought he was in VT lol (and I couldn’t get on the board earlier), which made me think maybe there was something wrong with the board itself.
