38 now but looks like it spiked to almost 50F in the middle of the night. Snow hanging on for dear life, stake down to 23"
-
Lower than forecasted tonight; forecast of 37 and it's 33 while my deck is a sheet of ice. The skiing today was awesome. Spring skiing at its finest.
-
Keeps going back and forth between snow and freezing rain here. About 1/4" accumulated. 27/19
-
Some light snow here but just a coating. 1.25" last night

Gradient pattern which can be very good
Kinda ironic considering the gradient this winter so far. I guess it depends on what side of the gradient you're on

Haven't updated mine in a while... 114" for the season to date

Why don't you just see if Alex will let you crash on a couch indefinitely and become ski bum. Sounds easier.
My brother has already claimed that role.

Ive always thought @alex had the right idea about buying property and renting it out for income. Now that my school loans are paid off and my car will paid off this year, I will be completely debt free. Id really like to do what Alex does...but Im a little bit on the timid side, and i know you have to have a real go get em personality to make investments work...maybe I can shadow Alex and learn a thing or two and then go for it?
It’s a great gig (and by the way, we are always looking for good people to help). Keep in mind, I only own a few properties, the others we just manage for other owners and take a cut (you need to be a licensed real estate agent to do that). The work is 24-7 and stressful at times but you also have great flexibility- is, can ski a few hours every day in the middle of the week.

True, if you were seeing snow daily with over two feet on the ground and record setting mountain depths....you probably wouldn't post about it either.
Lol. I always feel self conscious posting about how awesome things are exactly because of reactions like that. But yeah, things are really awesome in NNE. I love how deep it is, seeing this thick thick blanket of snow on everything. My driveway has walls on each side. The Xmas deer and sled are totally buried except for the tip of the antlers. Fire pits and seats are gone. Rock wall buried in what now looks like a completely flat surface. Oh yeah, some small flakeage tonight here too.

Yeah this is real cold. I've been in near -30F with calm winds and it's tolerable. -25F with 20-30mph winds is another level.
Good point. That's gotta be atrocious

-21F at MSP at noon CST. I haven't gotten below -17F here in 13 years.
With my microclimate it's hard to empathize with these Temps; they seem pretty ordinary lol. We've been in the -30s multiple times in just the few years I've lived here. Of course that's radiational driven so a different beast.

It's funny to look at your P&C and see an avalanche watch lol
GYX doesn't seem very concerned with the warmup. Snow almost every day next week except rain/snow on Tuesday with a high of 36. I assume that will have to be changed if op models are right about

Spoke too soon. Heavy squalls now
-
Might need a Severe Snow Squall Fail warning here. Some very light flurries lol

Finally cleared out here, 7.75 total
-
Got more from the last event than this one, although it's gotten really heavy in the last hour. Just under 5" overnight and 1.5" so far this morning
-
5.75" here to start the week

Nice, you are probably getting the second round of heavier snow that the Greens saw a little while ago. It just smoked the Spine quickly.
Grooming department reporting 6" at 1,500ft and 8" or more on the upper mountain.
I think you're about to enjoy the next hour or so. Dried up pretty quickly when it does shut off though.
Yes it's a different type of snow. Much fatter flakes now, they stack up quickly. Very scenic

Up to 4". Very nice rates

Hit 100" for the season today, a bit ahead of last year (Feb 6) and the previous (Feb 13)

Moderate snow again. About 3". Just realized this puts me over 100 for the season. Cheers to that!

Aside from the (warranted) doom and gloom of the main threads, GFS doesn't look so bad here for early February... decent storm midweek, a few tenths of an inch of rain early next week then some pretty good snows. Seems like a pretty typical New England winter. Is the ECMWF significantly differently, or is the doom and gloom still mostly a southern thing?

I'm in North Conway for some shopping and the water coming down the gutters is like in a summer downpour. I have to admit, it feels great
