It's not a great one although the staff is awesome. I often go to the one in North Conway because it's bigger (as are most things in Conway vs Littleton). We are pretty much right in the middle; Littleton is a bit closer but Conway is a prettier drive through the notch. And of course that counts in my book!

And there's about 4" of total clear ice as a base layer over the grass, and that grass hasn't been seen since November 12th.  This level of ice on the ground would support people out on a deep pond.

 

In spite of so many mixed events it's been a good winter for snowpack. Haven't seen grass since November. The area of my yard in the picture is by far the least snowpack (very exposed to the wind) and you can still see decent depth from the picnic table, the completely buried firepit and even the Xmas tree which is in a large pot. In the woods it's far deeper.

Jackson is great, but a bit of a hike to the parks. It's all good of course, but you could consider splitting up a bit and do a couple of nights in Jackson, a couple in the Tetons (there are some nice lodges on the lakes there!), and then a couple of days in the south side of the park (Old Faithful Lodge is awesome if you can do it, or one of the places around the Tetons), a couple of days on the Northwest side (West Yellowstone has some good lodging options) and a day on the Northeast side in Cook City MT. It will avoid you some driving (can be quite trafficky in the summer). Just some ideas - you really can't go wrong, that area is just amazing. 

Try it in the winter some time too... It's a weenie dream lol

Looks like I'll be there in August, and I want to know what I shouldn't miss.

Been there a handful of times both summer and winter. Both breathtaking. Hard to give any advise - it's all incredible but I'd recommend a night or two in each side of the park, so you don't have to drive back and forth too much, including a night in Cook City MT, which is a fantastic small mountain town

0.3" in today's light snow. Probably more in reality as it was compacting down significantly and I only measured once. A few pictures of the river from my property (posted in another thread). The ice blocks from the big rainstorm we had are very cool.

It's funny how different that is from here. Chilly, fat flakes in the air all day and deep snowpack. Strange season for sure 

Went for a walk along the river on my property. Some really cool ice formation. Snow in the woods is DEEP. Nice snowgloby day!

It's a great place. Love the ambiance. Cabin Fever is good too! But very different 

What's up with this wind again? We have kamikaze projectile flakes at the moment. It hurts.

Thanks,  Next time I'm up in Twin we are going out....  and yes the 600 ace is a great sled but the 900 ace also has eco mode, limits speed,torque and throttle response but the motor is so much more balanced , smoother and quieter.
