  1. Back home from Tahoe! 7/8" fresh snow on the ground, but really surprised to find 11" at the stake, which is EXACTLY what it was at when I left. If you add today's inch and the 2" we got when I was back, it means we lost less than 3" of snowpack during the warmup. Surprising and impressive - but I guess it's pretty much solid ice at this point.

Tahoe was awesome. Skied Heavenly, Northstar and Sqaw Valley. It's like Spring skiing every day there, such a different experience. Scenery was also beautiful. And my 2 year old took her first turns without using the straps! But I'm glad to be home!

I saw your post PF, so I looked through the snow output on a few recent runs.  I got a kick out of this one from the FV3 that I’m guessing you also must have tinkered with in your basement.  It sure makes you think that the FV3 gets the concept of upslope in the Northern Greens:

@powderfreak we need you to re-run today's 18Z from your basement, please!

Thanks! It's a great spot indeed. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it! Of course it also happened to be February on a beautiful upslope day lol. It's a very unique lot in Bretton Woods in that it's completely surrounded by National Forest and the river, and has a number of different ecosystems in it from some awesome wetlands to ponds to maple groves to thick red spruce forest. A rep from the University of New Hampshire actually visited, they are putting us on some sort of government grant list for ecological preservation. Of course, they also said it will take years for anything to happen lol

Might be blowing off your roof. ;)

    CAVU here tonight.

Hmm... nope, I checked the other cameras too and there's definitely something falling, but it's just a very light coating. Definitely something weird with one camera - the wind makes it seem much heavier, but there's also some flakes falling. WTF?

  5. Light snow falling here at my house. The mountain has really been pumping snow (worried about possible rains?), and in these temps (just warmed up above 0) it looks (and sounds) like a volcano from my house lol.

That's f'ing cold.  Below zero at that time of day with the snowpack and winter vibe.  It's only December 8th.

Yes it is. It's warmed up to 2F now with some light snow falling.

Even skiing was a bit too chilly today. On the other hand, they had the snow guns going and they were putting out Utah grade powder lol
