  1. Your observation is true and in many years generous. However that 25” line will sadly be pushing well north, along the coast, in the decades to come. As always ...
  2. That is wonderful. I also remember Storm Field. That would be a great name for a forum members child. Although, my lost love would have made sure I was gelded if I tried. As always......
  3. Some of us can add another decade above that. I remember the fun days with Tex and Uncle Weathbee,. I also remember the night Frank Field blew a snow forecast and the news crew pelted him with snowballs when he came on that night. Johnny Carson loved to use him in his monologue he would call Frank the crack NBC meteorologist who tonight, predicted lava coming out of the top of the Empire State Building. I remember Joe Bolton as an early TV weatherman using a grease pen. That was a bit before he became Officer Joe. As always ....
  4. N, thanks to your post all I can picture is Anthony singing the song ‘Somethings Coming’ from West Side Story . As always....
  5. At your age you shouldn’t want to stop. As always ....
  6. Don, I read this and looked at the last few moments of the movie On The Beach. The banner in front of a building in deserted dead Sydney said it all; THERE IS STILL TIME ... BROTHER. As always .....
  7. NYC makes sure there’s enough salt on the streets to forestall an ACL lawsuit from the pot hole population. As always ....
  8. Anthony, a weenie reaction to a super weenie is a compliment. As always .....
  9. Keep your shoes on, leave laces untied. As always ....
  10. Don, I went through this while the first sustained snow fell and melted on my postage stamp backyard. From a now well opened North West Passage to burning duff plugs I found the non biased, non political information ironically poignant as the fading frozen promise continues to fall outside my window. As always ....
  11. No complaints, ALLsnow,. The postage stamp received its first witnessed and recorded snowflake. As always.....
  12. I have one and enjoy it. If I live long enough to have a a thriving coconut palm in the postage stamp it will be fun seeing how the tree rats deal with the fruit. As always ...
  13. My postage stamp backyard seems to magnify the background UHI effect. There is still a clutch of red fruit almost hidden. My enterprising bushy tailed urban tree rats never got to them. Good idea with the seeds. I’d plant them in my old carcass if I thought it would work. I should have mentioned I have an egg plant still trying to flower. Its much more polite than the tomato. Broccoli, I can understand, especially after eating. You definitely end up getting loud but certainly not sociable. As always....
  14. I was reading the observations from my Brooklyn forum neighbors. I rushed to my back window and scanned my overcast postage stamp.. I turned away when the laughter from my still alive tomato plant started to annoy me. I’ll look again after the coffee settles. As always
  15. I and others are not laughing. The general hope is that you are correct and even conservative in your prediction. The science tools we presently have say such a prediction is a dream. A wonderful, inspiring, magnificent dream but one that is still likely to be impossible. As always.....
  16. Apocalyptic EMP on the way? As always ....
  17. Please take that chance... I always wanted to see, at the same time, a storm tossed sea to the east and snow covered highlands to the west. I waited too long. I’m sure someday you will overtake your dream and live it. As always ....
  18. Do it as son as you can, Joe. It was also my dream. The coast of Maine and a lighthouse. A dream is all that it will remain for me. As always ....
  19. Oh well, E J, that still might be 60 minutes more than some coastal sections up north see. As always ....
  20. WW007 I hope the panic room is large enough to accommodate Big Bird and the entire NYC City Council. As always ...
  21. Rochester has something missing in my NYC area and even, more often now, in Boston. It has a constant winter feel. The overcast sky. The continued stray flakes. The anticipation of a gift from the lakes or a fine result from a storm that would water our all ready bleak cold season coastal yards. No, P M, when it comes to winter, Rochester is indeed blessed, As always....
  22. In the old days that would mean everyone else got more. As always ....
  23. If NYC existed at Caribou’s location a budget of 1.2 billion would be required for the average year, I wonder how UHI would effect the snow fall total. The article is on page 2 of Sunday’s NYP. As always ....
  24. Nicely done. I hope Santa has a spare and less edible place to crash. As always.....
  25. Be careful Forky, the Snow Queen may arrange visitations on Christmas Eve. As always .....
