Just pouring giant flakes here for the past hour.  Accumulating quickly and roads finally starting to cave.

Light snow has started.  35 degrees.  Snow started reaching the ground with a RH of 52%.  Pretty rare.

PDO index is in for December.  Lowest OND readings since the mid-1950’s.  Pretty cool if we can get any kind of decent winter with these values leading in:

OCT -3.13

NOV -2.72

DEC -2.73

Depending on the location in your yard, you may want to mark the spot where the snowboard is with a stake, in the event you get a heavy accumulation.

That’s the second record high this month at MRB.  Also hit 69° on the 2nd for a record high.

0.32” of precip here in the past 4 weeks.  Dry is the worst weather.

Have friends who just moved into their new waterfront home on the Northern Neck yesterday.  Guess they will learn right away what a one-in-20 year flood looks like at their new property.

99 at MRB at the 3:00 reading.  98 in my yard.

Sorry fir the late reply.  The rain ended right around the time of my post but for most of the prior 45 minutes it was probably a top 3 event for torrential rain in the 15 years I’ve been at this location.

2.12” of rain in 45 minutes here.  Flooding all around.

High of 66.  Seventh day in a row with a sub-70 high temperature.  

Getting a shower of something frozen.  Splats on the windshield like large snowflakes.  Temperature dropped to 43

Been raining here much of the afternoon.  Closing in on 3" of rain since Friday.

Torrential rain and some dime-sized hail now.  Wind still ripping.

It’s rocking pretty good here with some loud thunder and strong gusty winds. Temp has already fallen 10 degrees as the rain begins.

Was surprised to find 1.51” in the gauge this morning.  Knew it rained heavily before dawn but that was more than I expected.
