Third sub-freezing high in the past 4 days here of 31. In the past 14 days, it’s been above 40 one day for about 5 hours. Snow is frozen solid. Very little melting in full sun all day today.

12Z GFS has a bonafide snowstorm from Richmond to the Tidewater on Friday morning, after temps in the low 60's on Thursday in that area.

Both GFS models have the precip skip over my area and then redevelop to the east. Like a line of storms in the spring and summer.

5.5” snow depth is frozen so hard I had trouble getting a metal ruler through to the bottom of it to measure. At least three layers of ice in the pack from snow on snow on snow.

Expect clouds, chilly weather, and potentially some snow. Of the four seasons, spring is by far the worst there as its seemingly always chilly and raining until Memorial Day. Not to sound like a complete deb.
In all seriousness, hopefully its good weather...there’s so much snow on the ground that unless there’s an epic torch, I’d expect snow to still be around then.
The place we are staying has a wood stove inside and a backyard fire pit so we should be set either way. It also has a deep water dock and canoes and kayaks available but I doubt if we will be able to get out onto the lake unless we get a big-time thaw the next few weeks. We always carry a folding canopy with us, big enough to cover a hot tub if it’s raining.

Light snow has added up to an additional 0.6” overnight so far. Up to 3.9” storm total. 7” of frozen snowpack on the ground. About a tenth of an inch of ice accretion also. It’s been 26 degrees since yesterday afternoon.

Renting a lakefront cabin at Deep Creek Lake the weekend of the Spring equinox. Hard to say what conditions we'll find there 4 weeks from now.

Precip transitioning to snow grains now. Looks like at least a frosting coming for the glaze of ice. High today was 26.9, low was 22.4. Beautiful winter day all around.

Things getting rough on the highways here. Multi-vehicle accident caused by icy roads at the I-81 bridge including three tractor-trailers has closed the northbound lanes. Multiple other accidents up and down the WV stretch of 81 also. Then there are difficulties like these on secondary roads:
Hampshire Co 42 Fire, 1 / Multiple vehicles stuck / Cumberland Road at Harriotts Hill.
Mineral Captain 37 on scene requesting FD to shut the roadway down advising multiple vehicles stuck. DOH is on location- 1

Freezing fog and mist past three hours here at 26 degrees. Getting very slick. Rural roads are a mess.

3.3” snow total from earlier puts me at 30.0” for the season. Had a bit of sleet as the main precip shield moved away. Now it’s raining at 24 degrees.

2" of new snow this morning. 23 degrees.

My mom is scheduled to get her 2nd jab tomorrow at 11 am in Alexandria. And they're being total dicks about rescheduling. I tried to be sympathetic about her plight, but I still want it to snow as much as possible. Her BF will be taking her in an AWD SUV...I think she'll be ok.
I had a 4:00 appointment scheduled at the local Urgent Care tomorrow, just to see a nurse to get a prescription filled. They called today to say they are closing and I can do a video visit. I never knew urgent cares closed for inclement weather.
Hope it goes smoothly for your mother.

Seeing what you guys get in snow events where us in the immediate DC area are walking between raindrops (pun totally intended) just to manage a meager snowfall is really encouraging me to look for places out that way once the time comes. Gotta deal with being on the outskirts of UHI hell for a few years though.. although some of my college choices are absolutely beautiful in the winter so outside of the DC area for just a little while might not be such a bad idea.
I understand how you feel. I lived in the DC burbs (Maryland) from 1982-2006. More snow was a factor in deciding to move here. It's rural where I am, but I can be in downtown Baltimore or downtown DC in about 75 minutes without traffic.

You're in a pretty good spot for this event. Can't imagine you won't crack 30" on the year from this, and I'd imagine three 6" events in any given year is an impressive feat in a Nina, even out there. Enjoy!!
I've had 4 snowfalls here that have gotten me to climo this season: a 2" one, a 4", an 8" and a 12" storm. Last time I had 6"+ three times in the same winter was 2013-14. Need 3.3" tomorrow for my sixth 30" season in 15 winters at this location.
