I believe we did crest the 250” inch mark at DCA with the 0z gfs clown mapHeavy pingers in G'burg, 26 deg. Will this year be record ratio of snow forecast to snow measured for the DC area?

30 min of mod snow and a dusting before sleet. LOL!

WSW for 4-8” and up to a 0.25”. Yes please. Anybody who calls that a “disaster” is a dang fool.
After how this season has gone, anyone who buys these forecasts as gospel is a bigger fool

I'm banking on the NAM, everyone knows I want a 3" sleet bomb capped with .25"+ of freezing rain. Those are fun. Stays for days. Everything caves instantly.
I think we got it after the 20th time

Short answer - Rental.
Long answer - I'll be here until early April, so hopefully there are some marginal events or legit events in March that I can cash in on. So far an A-/B+ for weather for my first 2 weeks. Lots of precip and clouds, persistent 6"+ snow cover. Only cracked 40 once, and four accumulating snow events totaling 15". No serious cold, but persistent below normal temps. Had a low of 13, but that was the only really cold night.
I called an audible in mid January, and had to stay in the "general" DMV area per WFH guidelines at work, so this has worked out nicely. It could have been 2 weeks of 40 and sunny with no snow or snowcover. Mid January was way too late to get any decent place for less than a billion dollars near Snowshoe or Canaan, so I had to find a way to stay within the geographic limitations and maximize snow potential. I am pleased with my choice given what was available. I rejected some nicer places because the elevation wasn't good enough.
Nice! enjoy it.. you've miss nothing but heartache and disappointment

Easily the best event to be fringed.
Total dearth of accretion on the trees, which is the prettiest part of this. Think it's just too warm here.
Temp is clearly not the issue - lack of elevation and the date is the issue

22, Freezing Drizzle....I have a nice creme brulee coating on the snow which yields a nice crunch as well as hunger.
Did you rent out a log cabin or is this permanent?

28 in Burke with drizzle and a bit of sleet.
Almost fell on my arse when stepping onto the deck.

Light mist. 24F. Thin coating of glaze. Sidewalk and patio are skating rinks.
Amazing to see the difference in snow cover. I've got 4+ snowpack and its just patchy in winchester....bare ground south of there. I'd be feeling very different about this winter if I still lived in stephens city, or front royal. As it stands, I've had snow cover since Jan 31. Haven't seen that personally since 2010, at least.
If you lived in Crozet it would be magical
