Went skiing last night at Liberty. Cold. Very cold. Very windy. Did 4 hours of night skiing. That's about all the kids and I could handle

I was able to get a closer parking spot with so many people leaving. The lines for the lifts are 20 minute wait

Too bad it's shorts weather lol.

I hope it dies out by tonight. I'm going night sking.

I'm thinking by the second week in February we're back in business.

We can definitely sneak into something. He'll the GFS has been hinting at next weekend for a few days now. It's just alot tougher when the overall pattern looks like it does for the next week or 2. We're just gearing up for our HECS the last 2 weeks in February .

Psu isn't wrong though. The pattern sucks for the next few weeks. Sure we could steal something. It is prime climo. I would say Ctp would have alot better chance of stealing one than most of Lwx over the next few weeks.

That was an impressive streamer that came down through Washington and Frederick counties. That puts me at exactly 4" on the day. Could of been more. Was at work all day and just measured. I'm sure there was some compaction going on. I'll go with 4" Hoping some of those streamers up in PA can make it down here

How much snow do you have? I'm at work so not sure about Smithsburg but we're probably close In Thurmont there's probably 4" otg

I'm moving this to the banter thread so not to clog up the obs thread. We still have a long way to go to hit climo for some areas. I'm at 8.25 for the season. My average is almost 30. It's even higher in Nino years. If I get 3 or 4 inches tomorrow I'll be around 12 for the season. I have a long way to go just to get to climo. If we punt most or all of next week it's almost February. Alot of work to do in 4 to 6 weeks. Sure it can happen. It could happen with just 1 storm. This week has been great! I'm loving it! Don't get me wrong, but if your at around 10" mark heading into February was this the December and January you invisioned back in November? Again I'm so happy for the snow we have gotten. I only had 2" last season which is crazy for Smithsburg at 750ft in elevation at the M/D line

Very good post. I'm no teacher buy have family members that are and I don't think people realize how much of their personal time is used for the "behind the scenes" stuff. Now the perk is being off for 8 weeks over the summer lol.
