  1. Definitey deflating. Last year the weeklies gave us great looks after great looks that never materalized. That gives me some hope that they may not be right past 2 to 3 weeks. Problem is this year its going with persistance. Looking more and more likely that most of January is toast. I reallly hope we can score a modest event in the short window we have next week.
  2. Please!!! Its taken 20 years but this certainly feels like rock bottom.
  3. @nj2va As good as the caps are they take way too many penalties. They need to clean that up before Spring time. That'll cost them in the playoffs.
  4. Didn't realize that. Id rather him rest his body if he needs it to hopefully make a deep run this spring.
  5. Lol. Got both my kids Oshie Jerseys for Christmas to match mine.
  6. @nj2va Caps cant fiquire out the blue jackets this year. 7 loses in regulation this year and 2 are from the jackets. About to be 3 if the caps cant get on the board.
  7. Yep OP run at range but it shows how we could get an overrunnning event with cold air in place and moisture heading towards us. Just have to hope the cold is deep enough so we can get some front end love prior to a switch over.
  8. I noticed that also. Thats probably our only hope for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Get some cold around and time something up before the cold moves out. At least its not as diffucult to time something up during prime climo. Looks rather bleak for the foreseeable future
  9. I like how wet its been lately though.I know theres no guarantees for snow but keep that up heading into the coldest part of the year and good things can happen. I dont mind storms that cut through the ohio valley with a big slug of moisture out front with cold air locked in place. Its been a while since we had one of those its seems , but where Im at along the pa/md line thats how we ussually get those moderate 4- 8" / 5 - 10" snows. I love coastals but there so rare and its always a go big or get nothing situation.
  10. Just traveled from Smithsburg to Thurmont on route 77 over the catoctins. Looks like a winter wonderland up there. Car thermometer said 26 at the top. Currently 28 in Thurmont with light to occasionally moderate snow falling.
  11. Measured 1" in Smithsburg. Was snowing moderately about 430 but has lightened up a good bit since then
  12. The columbus game was the typical "trap" game looking ahead to Boston and Tampa Bay. 2 stout wins against 2 top tier teams . Good to hear Samsonov was good. Sounds like he will be taking over next year with Holtby possibly leaving for free agency. I read they only have enough cap space for Holtby or Nicki not both and they want Nicki to be a cap for life.
  13. Looks like the gfs is about to go boom
  14. Icon maps are not the best but it looks like between .25 - .5 qpf falls as some form of frozen across northern MD.
  15. Several hours of snow followed by some ice. Nice improvement over 00z
  16. 12z guidance shows a quicker onset and better qpf for I70 north. The problem is the WAA precip has been steadily moving north on all guidance over the past few runs.
  17. Question for anybody. Does Kuchera ratios take into account sleet and mixing. Snow maps are lolz unless its a pure snow storm but does kuchera help?
  18. Lol. Wow! Some people take it too seriously.
  19. I like the move the Icon made. Gets front running precip pretty far out in advance and also moved the entire system a good bit south and east. Not there yet for us but alot closer
  20. Theres some big hits from the eps. I counted atleast 15 members that give a portion of the sub forum 4 " or more. Some north and some south.
  21. Truth! I was just thinking the same thing this morning. If the models were reversed the GFS would be trending towards the euro no doubt lol. Edit- There is some really nice hits in the EPS. This appears to be our best shot so far for atleast a nice front end thump before a changeover.
