  1. Monday's storm threat looks a lot better than tomorrow's, but obviously too far out to get excited. Looks like a significant humidity spike on Monday with dewpoints going to the low 70s, so hopefully that will help to fuel the storms. Looks like another nice airmass coming in mid next week with lower humidity again. Overall a very nice first 10 days of August with not a lot of humidity. I'm guessing that will change in mid August.
  2. I don't agree with you about the weekend. No rain in the forecast at all and the models are not showing any activity. North wind on Saturday brings in drier air with dewpoints falling to the high 50s late in the day. Overall looks like a nice weekend with lower humidity. Not super low humidity like we've had the last several days, but dewpoints in the high 50s to low 60s is pretty nice for early August.
  3. Hopefully Friday's storm chance will deliver. Euro has a lot of the area getting hit by heavy downpours. Then a nice weekend with lower humidity.
  4. The dewpoint is 47 here right now. It felt as if I was running outside in late September this afternoon. Invigorating, and it's great that we're gonna have dewpoints in the 40s again tomorrow. Gotta take advantage of this while we have it, so tomorrow I'm going up to Swartswood Park for hiking. After tomorrow we might not see humidity this low again until September.
  5. Being bored wasn't an issue for me. Mid to late August I was outside playing baseball constantly, and dreading the start of school year. lol
  6. I would've hated going back before Labor Day. I know around here most schools still wait until after Labor Day.
  7. We still have to watch the timing, but yeah it looks as if it will get out of the way in time for a beautiful weekend. Just a brief humidity spike on Friday with showers/storms, but the humidity should drop again for the weekend. Not the spectacular high 40s dewpoints we're seeing today and tomorrow, but they should get back down to the high 50s which is pretty nice for early August.
  8. Dewpoint of 52 here right now. This is the start of 4 days in a row with dewpoints this low. A spectacular stretch.
  9. Nothing at all for me morning and evening, but we've had plenty of rain lately so that's ok. Now we get to enjoy a spectacular low humidity stretch for the next several days. Looks as if our next rain chance doesn't come until Friday.
  10. Yeah I see that small cell that just popped up heading into Union County. Will miss me to the north but looks like a close call for you.
  11. Right now it looks as if Friday will be our next storm threat and then it moves out of the way for a beautiful next weekend. Obviously it's still early and that could change, but right now next weekend looks good.
  12. Missing us just slightly to the south. Heavy rain going into central and southern Middlesex County. Not a surprise ... we knew it would be a broken line as you mentioned earlier.
  13. The overnight and early morning downpours missed me, but hoping to get a storm later in the afternoon. Sunday through Wednesday is gonna be an incredible low humidity stretch for the end of July and beginning of August. I wouldn't be surprised to see dewpoints get down to the high 40s Tuesday into Wednesday.
  14. High temp of 93 here today. The dewpoint dropped to 67. Pretty comfortable out there.
  15. Yeah the humidity is a little lower than yesterday. The dewpoint here right now is 69. That along with temps in the low 90s isn't bad at all. This heat wave is meh as you said.
  16. Amazing that right now it appears that we won't be going above normal anytime soon, once the heat passes tomorrow. Early August looking very comfortable, but it sounds as if we could make up for that in the 2nd half of August.
  17. Surprised. It seemed as if the threat was over, but I got lucky here after midnight. A small downpour popped up in Hunterdon County and made it to my area, and then another cell popped up right behind it. Very heavy rain and a couple close lightning strikes. A half inch of rain. I thought I was gonna have to water the vegetable garden later today, but now I won't have to. Nice surprise late tonight.
  18. Yeah I was just gonna say the same thing. What a scene from Citi Field.
  19. I went for a run outside in the afternoon heat today too. Made it a short run and didn't run as fast as usual, but it was ok. Didn't feel horrible. The nice breeze helped.
  20. Completely agree. The 93 with high humidity here today didn't feel comfortable, but it wasn't horrific. It just seemed like normal heat/humidity for late July. It didn't stop me from doing my usual physical activities outside. Obviously sensitive groups have to be careful outside in this type of heat.
  21. 93 with a dewpoint of 73 here. Radar still quiet for our area. Looks as if most of the storms are gonna stay to the north and west, but can't rule out isolated stuff down here.
  22. I think I would add Wednesday to that. Last night's Euro extended the beautiful low humidity weather through Wednesday. A spectacular 4 days. Even late week when the humidity comes back up, it doesn't look oppressive. Then another beautiful airmass coming in for next weekend. Overall a very comfortable pattern for the last couple days of July and the first week of August. I wonder if we could actually avoid having an above normal August for a change. Right now there's no sign of any heat, but of course it's early to tell what will happen in mid August.
  23. The weather after the big heat looks spectacular for several days. Slightly below normal temps (highs in the low 80s) with low humidity. Monday the dewpoints could get down to the low 50s. That looks like a top 10 type of day.
  24. Euro doesn't have anything for Thursday. Yeah it's surprising that SPC is so bullish, but hopefully they're seeing something that the models are missing.
  25. Best wind I've had from a t-storm in quite awhile. It stayed just below severe, but some very nice 50mph wind gusts. Lots of close lightning and torrential rain.
